Comment:

Gary is amazing. I just took his class as a mini-mester. Before the class started, I was seriously dreading it (It's a mini-mester) but I actually really enjoyed it. I never found myself wishing it was over or counting down the minutes remaining. I took away a lot of life lessons and learned how to improve my presentation skills. Gary is the best!!

I took Comm110 with professor Hale for a minimester over the summer. Super glad I did! He was seriously amazing! He made the class so enjoyable. I was terrified of taking this class but he puts you at ease. You can tell he genuinely cares. As long as you put in effort you will pass his class. Favorite professor so far!

Mr. Hale is an amazing teacher! He gives very good, structured lectures, and gives good examples. He doesn't grade very hard, and gives good feedback. He is also good at connecting with people. I went into COMM 110 dreading speeches, but actually ended up enjoying the class. I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone!

I took Hale over the summer and I had some difficulty but for MCOMM 110 he was GREAT! I accidentally submitted a blank paper and he was very understanding and gave me full credit. 10/10 would recommend

Gary Hale is amazing. Such a great teacher. Legit my favorite professor that I've ever had. He cares about his students & not just on a professional level. He cares about how you are outside of class as well. I learned so much in the courses I took with Gary & I still talk to him even though he is no longer my professor.

Comment:

Hale has a big appreciation (or so it seems) for older movies. Be patient with your grades, he takes a little time putting them in. Some of the assignments that I got marked down on were opinion based so I didn't really understand that. I was told he prefers a lot of facts to make sure that you watched the movie you're writing about.

Took COMM110 as a minimester and it was the best decision Ive ever made! Super easy, super fun. Professor Hale is very genuine and makes his classes interesting. Highly recommend taking him if you ever get the chance!

There are three papers in this class which he has set up as paragraph answers. Super easy just do the research and you do good. Attendance is mandatory as a night class we met once a week and we were allowed to miss two class periods. Movies were fun and interesting. The worksheet answers are straight from the book and the tests are on quizlet.

Gary is a fair grader.. almost too easy of a grader. Take the minimester. It crams everything in and he always lets you out of class hours early. He's very easy to talk to and makes class pass quickly. The book is only used for take home assignments. Highly recommended!

Awesome class! I definitely learned a lot from his class and it was a fun one as well. It is not difficult class as long as you make the time to watch the movies, which are pretty interesting. The quiz answers are on quizlet and the assignments are not difficult since they are from the textbook. He is a pretty relaxed grader.

Great and easy class. I took it during the summer. Only have to watch a few clips a week and then take a quiz on it and the answers are in quizlet. Sometimes you have to answer some questions about parts of the book but easy to find. The discussion post are simple too. He is an easy grader and the class is enjoyable you discover some good movies

Gary Hale is my very favorite professor. I highly recommend any class he teaches- I took History of Film with him and absolutely loved it! The topic was already interesting but he makes everything even more so. You have to keep up but it's easy to do. I loved his teaching so much I went out of my way to take speech with him as well. Great professor

Professor Hale is an excellent professor! His lectures are interesting and cover far more than merely public speaking. Be prepared to work hard on the speeches and learn from his feedback. The textbook, however, is little more than a glorified, though mandatory, pamphlet. As there is no online access code, I would search for it cheaper online.

Professor Hale was a fantastic teacher. His class was extremely easy and interesting as well. Tests are simple, and the final was easy too. If you miss more than 3 classes, you get docked 10 points per class missed after that. I suggest taking the course online if you have trouble showing up. Rent the book if you want, you'll use it like 3 times.

I thought Mr. Hale was a great professor! His instructions were clear for the most part and he did not make us do too many assignments. We were required to write three short papers for the class that were easy to do and we watched a ton of movie clips. If you like watching movie clips you will like this class.

Had him for three classes, MCOMM224, MCOMM110, and COMM110. TAKE THIS TEACHER! Very loyal to teaching, makes the class environment BEYOND comfortable for giving speeches and his expectations are always reasonable - definitely NOT a power-trip-professor.
