Online Formatt: Palmer is very exacting in what he wants. But at least you know what that is at all times. This class is a little more difficult for those who are not very technically savvy, like me. Palmer gives immediate feedback and great study guides.

Hal is a goofy guy, but he means well. Very easy class, boring lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, but gives extra points for going. Study guides he gives before each exam are basically everything that will be on the exams.

Palmer is a really great guy and a good professor. He is very easy to understand and pretty helpful. You really don't even have to listen in class if you just follow along with the book. I don't understand why so many bad ratings because I really liked this guy.

This is an easy class. The lectures are very boring and hard to stay awake during, so try to avoid taking this class at night. Make use of the study guides, because almost all of the questions on the exams are from the study guide. Pay close attention to names that he mentions in class, such as authors. There is usually a random name question.

This guy is so full of himself! Hes been teaching for 26 years so he thinks he knows everything. Its funny that when he actually tries to show the class examples, he cant make anything work. Dont waste your time...

There are online quizzes over each section for easy points. 4 tests and class before each test, we review every question. All questions are short answer and most are just terms. The class can be boring at times, but he's a nice guy and knows his stuff. Only a couple out of class group projects, but they only take 30 minutes max to complete.

Lectures were useless and he stumbles over his own thoughts a lot. Nice guy overall but just didn't really know what he was teaching for a simple intro to computers type class...the student assistants were much more helpfull and knew so much more.

Absolutly Loved him....he was very understanding & always helpful u can reach him anytime day/night if u pay attention he teachs well if not u can still get through it on your own but overall i love him i missed alot of class cuz of family reasons & he was 100% ok with it & worked with me to get the things done that i needed to.Take him easy A

Mr. Palmer was the worst teacher I have ever had. I had aced the class throughout the year, no quizzes or tests below a 90. But at the end of the year he surprised me with an F. It ends up Mr. Palmer had lost all of my tests, quizzes, and assignments.

This class is a joke. A lot of classtime is wasted on irrelevant material, and he spends a lot of the remaining time reminiscing. Take someone else if you can, Palmer is a typical over-the-hill CIS prof. However, if you have to take him he's not bad--just boring and unqualified.

Nice guy! Seems to have a really good understanding of database design, but stumbles sometimes when talking about the details of using Access for some operations. It's easy to get lost/confused if you don't pay close attention and follow along. Ask for help as soon as you start falling behind.

The book is so boring but I thought palmer made the best of it. Test and quizzes aren't bad only if you study the material he gives you before each test. The project at the end of the semester was very unclear but overall not a bad class.
