I absolutely adore Dr. Belnap Jensen! She is so kind and will work with you in any situation - if you approach her. Lots of reading, but all of it really valuable to the subject.

Professor Jensen (Belnap now, I believe) was a fantastic Intro to European Studies professor. I would take her again in a heartbeat!

Dr. Belnap was my professor for my 1.0 credit class in Late Summer Honors. We had lots of reading (3+ hours daily) and each reading came with a paper, but you could get away with skipping some if you had to. Rather than lectures, she would teach some, and then give us lots of time to discuss as a group; the class was very interactive this way.

I have taken many classes from Dr. Belnap Jensen, and she really is the best. I have learned so much from her and she has inspired me to be a better student. There are a lot of readings, but she's fairly generous when it comes to grading.

So, Dr. Jensen is really bright, but, her tests are not easy. In fact, they are really hard. I have taken three classes from Dr. Jensen, and despite my admiration for her, she is quite a tough teacher. Would recommend, but not if you are looking for an easy A.

Professor Jensen knows what she is talking about, is passionate, inspiring, and facilitates respectful discussion in her classroom. Everyone felt welcome here and feminism was discussed appropriately for a BYUreligious setting. Because it was Spring term there was lots of reading, but she is a fair grader when it comes to assignments.

Heather Jensen is my hero. I took 19th Century European Art with her and she is just the best professor. She knows her stuff and you can tell she really cares about her lectures. She shares cool facts and gives great feedbackdirection on papers. She is generally the coolest human and she dresses so well-if that earns her any more brownie points.

Comment:
her lectures were very hard to follow along with. she only puts an image on her slides with no reference, or any text to go along with the image. so we were expected to understand her french, which was impossible, and so the lectures were basically pointless for me. her midterm is near impossible if you are not an art history major.

This is the hardest class I've ever taken. She is a great teacher but seems a scatterbrained sometimes and doesn't explain assignments well. She knows her stuff but almost shares too much of it. I believe it also depends on the class you take with her and the type of TA you get. There is A LOT of work in her class! It has taken over my life.

Women in art was such an amazing class! Totally changes your perspective on life. Lots of readings but their very interesting readings. Tests are easy and there's a study guide. Favorite art history class I've taken so far and it's my major.

I took Modern Art from Heather Jensen- She is an amazing professor. She does not give many assignments besides pop quizzes for the readings and a research paper (required for all art history classes). A LOT of information but go to class and take good notes! I highly recommend this class and this professor.

Heather is a blast! She knows what she's talking about! She's great at taking history and making it real - taking art and making the symbols apparent. LOTS OF READING, and I only took a one week class.

Take Art History 300 from Heather! I learned so much in this class, but definitely spent a TON of time with the readings (5-6 hours a week). If you take the time to ask questions after class she will be very helpful. Tests are not difficult if you study and can write about the theories. Hard class yet very rewarding.

Jensen was a stylish teacher who was able to describe the art really well. ARTHC 202 was really interesting. However, there is a percent of your grade for extra participation, so plan on either attending labs outside of the specific class time or completing writing assignments in class. But heather's teaching style is really engaging and upbeat.

Prof. Jensen is wonderful. She obviously loves art very much, and this course is fascinating. Her passion for art history is infectious!I learned a TON about the subject, and previously knew nothingn. Cares about her students. Must attend lectures! Essays for the exams: arent bad, but are graded by TA's. A is doable, reasonable workload too.

Heather is a fabulous professor with a deep affection and understanding of her subject matter. She really has an interest in helping students access the subject matter, but you have to approach her first. All I had to do was send her an email and drop a paper off for feedback and she was more than willing to give it. I think she's brilliant.

Fabulous professor! I love how she takes the art to a place you had no idea it could go. You can really feel the passion she has for art and its history. A good grade is easy as long as you do the readings and attend class. Essays are tough, but you can easily pull a good score off if you put the effort into it. Take this class! It's great!

Enjoyable lectures, but fast paced. Problems with teacher who smiles to your face and agrees with your concerns, then gouges you later. She changed requirements of essay twice, then doubled its worth after submission with no warning. I liked art coming into this class, but had to work to sweeten those soured feelings for the subject afterward.

I really love this class, but one of the reasons is because I really enjoy art history. However, it is difficult to stay awake during class because of the dark room. You will have to definitely put a lot of work into this class (there are reading notes and plenty of studying time for essay tests), but I think it is worth it.

Condescending and arrogant. Made no attempt to speak on the student's level.
