Comment:

Hilary is a great and very caring teacher. You can tell by the time and effort she puts into her classes that she really enjoys what she does. I have been in art classes for years and I still learned a great deal from her class. I definitely see improvement in my work because of her help and constructive criticism. Very sweet and helpful. Take her.

Comment:

Her online classes were pretty helpfull and she shows clear demonstration and actually took time to comment on all the students work. Shes pretty strict and she has that "im the teacher im always right" attitude regardless all the time you put in your work even if she tells you to revise. Not recommended if you do not want to put a lot of effort

Her class is very straight forward and syllabus clear. There's no question on what you should be doing in class and when it is due. She's very sweet and very helpful, all you have to do is ask. I would definitely take her class again even if i'm not an art major.

Once you get to know her she can very helpful. She is very to the point and doesn't jump around the bush, which can be very hard for some students to handle, but the criticism can be useful.

Hilary is an incredibly patient instructor and very helpful if you're willing to put in the work. If you're hoping to be spoon-fed, not so much. She teaches according to a strict curriculum, which may not be to the taste of those who are disorganized, undisciplined or undedicated. I enjoyed her class very much and hope to take more from her!

Hilary is incredibly supportive of hardworking students interested in improving their work- regardless of their talent or skill.Show up, work and listen, and have your materials, because you need them, its a CLASS.She will tell you what you need to work on, and she is usually dead on.

The worst teacher I had at Foothill. She's totally judgmental: favors those who have talent and makes the others feel like****. I learned in her class, but did not appreciate how she was condescending towards everyone.

She is professional. She gets the best or your work and cuts the rest. If you are serious, this is a HUGE help. If you are not, you don't belong at Foothill taking art. If you are not trying to be a serious artist, she will be way too hard for you. Personally she is warm and shares her information freely. Don't chat to others in class.

She's not a very pleasant person & wants you to draw HER way (even though I have years of experience drawing). Class atmosphere is uncomfortable & not fun. She also spends an unecessary amount of time over explaining simple concepts & nags a lot. If you don't do things her way, when she tells you to, she tends to treat you like a baby. Def not rec

I didn't enjoy the class. It was NOT fun and relaxing at all, as you would expect from an art class. I don't like the strict "QUIET & work" atmosphere. It is hard to learn when you don't feel comfortable with a teacher!

Do you want to enjoy your art class?Don't take Hilary!I did well,it was unfun,but only because I have been drawing for several years.The beginners I OFTEN saw dicouraged!Those who did well were the experienced ones who had learned from someone else previously.She takes all joy out of art.One needs to be kind even if they're teaching basic things.
