Comment:
She is a very one-sided person when it comes to most topics, the class is pretty boring. Not a lot of notes, mostly just talking about current events and having debates. Definitely don't need to participate. Test was the easiest thing ever. Journals every month are time consuming but easy. Definitely need both books.

She's really passionate about the subject, encourages students comments, and loves having class discussions. Class is so easy, 2 papers, 1 group presentation, and small homeworks. Take home final. Show up to class and do things on time and it's an easy A and an interesting class.

VERY one-sided and likes to talk about her own opinions, but if you can get over that it's not bad, especially for a night class. 3 long journals (mostly reflection), 1 paper, 1 group presentation. Class is all discussion-based but Rose likes to talk about her own thoughts for a lot of the time. Not a bad class overall though!

Awesome teacher! She is very knowledgeable of the subject and this seems to be her passion. Fairly easy tests as long as you make a study guide (which she gives and takes 5 mins). 3-4 journals that take a lot of time but again anyone could do them just always give reflection. One lit review and project, both pretty easy. I really enjoyed her.

Don't expect to learn anything in this class. Professor does not spend class teaching, rather talking about current events and making students present endless projects. No book for you to try and learn anything on your own. Final is common sense, so you may feasibly pass even though you walk away from this course with no real knowledge of the subject. Nice lady, but not a good class. Try to avoid if possible.

don't listen to any bad reviews you read.. she may be very liberal, but is also respectful of opposing views and wants her students to learn. the material isn't too interesting, since it's just intro, but she does her absolute best. take her if you can!! easy A and good, relevant class- trust me!

LOVED this woman! Humorous, has great stories, always there to help. Keeping up with the readings is a drag, but do it anyway and she acknowledges that. Participation is key!!!!

Comment:
I did not like Professor Rose. I thought she was too antiquated with her methods and how she treated people whether young or old. If anyone showed to be not part of the normal crowd, she really did not understand how to communicate with them or treat them. She needs refresher seminars on updated methods and public awareness.

definitely a crazy liberal woman, and there's supposed to be a lot of reading. but, you can definitely get away with doing very little reading & if you want an easy A just agree with her... if not, it'll be funny to argue with her if you like that kinda thing. she's entertaining to me, but dont take anything she says too personal.could be worse

Amazing professor. She knows her stuff about Sociology, brings up interesting topics and questions. Tests and quizzes are very easy if you read the chapters and study the Sociology vocab. Definitely take her, it was the best night class I've had.

Professor Rose knows her stuff. The course is an intro course and fairly easy. A few papers, a lot of reading, but no exams and the final is take-home. Takes attendance and expects participation. Some interesting soc.work speakers came in. Have to find a socworker to interview, and have one large group presentation. Easy grader, nice lady

A huge liberal/feminist but as long as you can sit through her babble on about that stuff it's an easy A. You don't have to read to do well. A few short papers on bs stuff and a take home final.

AWFUL professor; one-sided views; if you aren't liberal/democrat she thinks your opinions are wrong and will grade you badly; 2 big (8-10page) papers, 1 group presentation, weekly journal entries; DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

The class isn't that hard at all but it is very boring. It's a lot of discussion but hardly anyone discusses. Tests and Quizzes are kind of hard but the papers and presentations are easy she grades very well so that balances out. Pretty easy class to take if you're trying to get a Social Science requirement out like I was.

Comment:
She is very opinionated and it is easy to see that during class. She has favorites based on their opinions. Obviously dislikes students if they disagree with her liberal views. Otherwise, easy assignments...easy A class.
