Comment:

Frykman is a really nice guy who wants his students to do well..he just doesn't know how to teach them. Going to class is pointless bc he doesnt take attendance or collect homework and nothing covered in the lecture is on the tests. He gives out practice exams so the class is pretty much self-taught.

Drop the class... He really doesn't know how to explain anything to students. He's often late, His handwriting is impossible to decipher, and he just gives me the impression that he doesn't care. I ended up showing up only for test days and taught myself out of the book. Tho there arent any quizzes or HW and practice tests are nice, he cant teach.

Frykman is extremely smart and really knws his stuff; However he is not a good teacher. He does not know how to effectively explain things. Also i really hated how he was late to every class, he was even late at office hours during final exam week.

Very intelligent. Not good at explaining. Tends to answer everything but the question you ask. I have a lot of respect for him, but I don't think he's fit to be a teacher. He does not like to use equations, he tries to explain things without equations like these things are all common sense. Very difficult.

Previous comments here are a bit harsh. Prof. Frykman would be a good teacher if he taught at a pace more suitable for students. He seems to have difficulty explaining and showing us step-by-step how to do problems. I say get a TI89 and let the calculator do your math for you. Practice tests are posted online. He is willing to help you if you ask.

had an A due to online pretest after 2 exams,found i only did well b/c it was Hschool review,got D's on the next 2 b/c he does not teach at all,then failed the final and had to argue with math dept to recieve a C pointless to attend class,seriously drop this class,i didn't believe ppl b/c im good at math and had an A after 2 exams,but its that bad

A man who probably became a teacher not because he desired to teach, but as a fallback position when his first career choice failed somehow. His lack of interest in teaching is obvious. He is available during office hours, but seems to prefer doing puzzles to helping students, and occasionally shows his impatience and boredom. DROP HIS CLASS.

he didn't make sense in class. he kind of babbled. so if you don't have any background on the subject you are kind of screwed. but before tests he gives out 2-4 practice exams. LEARN how to do each type of the question and you'll be fine because his tests are the same as the practice one except with different numbers.

He never takes attendance, so if you can teach yourself how to do math, then take this class. I only went to class before the tests and did the reviews that he gave us online, and I am doing fine in the class. He does not know how to teach though, so that is why I ended up teaching myself everything.
