Jason seems like a cool guy but he teaches like he hates the subject of Bio himself. His monotone voice doesn't help keep you awake as he explains the stages of cell respiration and his office hours are very limited. If you want a passionate teacher then I wouldn't take him but if you just want to get thru the class if you study HARD you'll be fine

I dont know why everyone else has graded him so well. His lectures are long, he speaks in monotone, and he gives 145 slide notes per chapter (1 test 4 chapters) Although hes a great person, very intelligent, witty, and successful, expect to pay attention to every word he says and go the extra mile or you wont pass this class. Strictly memorizing

Dr. White is an extremely intelligent guy who simplifies his topics down to a level that his students understand. Has great relevant stories from his job and other experiences. I hadn't taken bio since freshman year in high school. Review his power points and do the questions he emails you, and you'll be fine.

Comment:

Dr. White is the best. I had taken AP Biology but had to take Bio 101 anyway, so I knew most of the info before and this was basically a refresher course. He is really funny and is relevant in the biology field so provides some real-world examples of principles. He also really wants students to do well and makes every effort for you to succeed.

Really nice guy. Must attend class. Powerpoints are crazy long and the topics are tough but is very clear with whats on the tests. Fairly easy to do well.

Comment:

Lectures all class directly from powerpoints he puts online before class. Tests are a lot easier to study for than the other bio profs b/c other profs do all multiple choice tests and his have long/short answers that are easier to study for. He's pretty chill&has good stories. Kinda cocky though. Overall I would suggest taking him.

I thought he was a good teacher. He goes over power points all class and he knows what he's talking about. The tests aren't bad at all, he just takes questions straight from the power points. I would definitely recommend!

he's an amazing lecturer. he teaches only at night so i suggest investing in a voice recorder. his tests aren't bad but study for them because it has 5 chapters. i would take him again.

A very fair class.If you do your work and study you will do fine.Gives extra credit that is very helpful for studying for the test, so its a no brainer to do it.One group presentation that will help your grade.Study the given powerpoints.had him for 101 and for 102 after listening to how terrible some of the other prof are. Not a bad choice to take

Professor White's tests are in fact hard, but if you study for them they're not too terrible. DEFINITELY DO the extra credit, that's the best way to study for the tests. He's a nice guy, fair grader. I feel like I learned a TON in his class.

Really nice guy. 5 tests and 1 group presentation, no midterm or final. He's a fair grader, and tests aren't too bad if you study. Puts powerpoints up online to make it easier for studying. The only time I used the book was on the group presentation.

He's a nice guy, but is pretty much all about the teaching. Every class is a powerpoint lecture and there are five exams based on these. If you study a fair amount, the tests are not too difficult. There is also a group presentation at the end of the semester. He doesn't believe in cumulative tests so no midterm or final exam.

Very easy class, takes questions from tests right from the online tests. If you just study those you will get an A. There are 4 tests (1 take home) and one group presentation. Easy extra credit on each test for around 10 extra points. Lectures the whole time and all you do in class is write down notes. He's a nice man.

The class is strait forward and he is a great teacher. Tests are difficult, but everything can be found in the lecture notes (and there are a lot of them). The last few chapters taught via "group" oral presentations...he does grade those generously, but sitting through them is a nightmare.

he lectures like most bio teachers do but his tests are rather easy, he also gives one take home test in the semester and a presentation that he grades lenient on, you do have to study for tests though
