Comment:
Nienkamp is a pretty good professor, but be ready to work hard. There are 3-4 major papers, no quizzes, no other homework. She gives you very detailed instructions on how to write every single paper, which helps. Sometimes she's unclear with what exactly she wants your paper to include. I definitely recommend asking specifically about your paper.

She is a great person, but not a great professor. 50% of your grade were 2-4 papers and there was not enough time to do multiple drafts. She was never up to date on her grading and you never knew your grade on your papers or anything else. We also did not learn anything new if you had High School English. Yet, she is very understanding and caring.

she is great! she explains everything well and is approachable if you have questions. she is funny, but a bit odd. she brings in her dogs, which is awesome. there are a lot of opportunities for extra credit, if you don't miss class she will give you extra credit as well.

She is an extremely nice lady overall. However, she inappropriately brings up politics at unnecessary times. It is rather unprofessional in my opinion, and also obnoxious. However, she is very willing to help if you're struggling and always makes an effort to reach out to students. I believe she's a pretty average grader.

Professor Nienkamp is... interesting. I know she got on most of my classmates nerves because she makes jokes and laughs while talking about uncomfortable topics, but she is a pretty nice person. If something comes up she is pretty undertanding about pushing back a due date slightly. And she brings her two husky puppies to class, which is amazing.

She is not very difficult grading wise. Three major essays, with two small ones at the end of the semester. She is very sarcastic however when replying to emails over simple questions. Also, she is not afraid to push her opinions on others and criticize those who disagree with her. Just show up to class.

Points will be taken off your grade if you skip class. There is a lot of papers that you have to write. There is an in class journal that you write everyday of class. She brought her dogs and doughnuts for us a couple times. There is one final group project but its easy. Helpful outside of class.

She's crazy but a pretty fair grader and makes class fun. I'd say the best part about the class is the fact that we get plenty of time during class to work on whatever we're writing. I would take her again, despite her wackiness.

She's very crazy. She can get off topic at times but she's fun. When it comes to the work you do, she'll give you good feedback. She may bring her dogs to class. Their huskies, so if your allergic or afraid of dogs, beware.

I liked Dr. Nienkamp. Her class was fairly easy; I only had 4 papers total to write and they were all four pages double spaced. She is clear on what she wants and offers in class days to work on your paper. Attendance matters! Do good on your papers, show up to class, and you will do good. She also brings her Huskies to class-so adorable!

Jean is totally out there. I mean she is nuts. If you can get past that the class itself wasn't hard at all had only 4 papers in the semester and did daily journal writing which is one of the few things i enjoyed.

You can get full attendance points for turning In a reading response and leaving. She doesn't return work with a timely fashion and is insanely disorganized. She has no idea what's going on and doesn't tell you what she wants. So the line between bad and good grades is very thin.

Jean is the funniest lady, completely off her chain. Only 3 papers and mandatory conferences that are really helpful to go along with each paper. She brought in her two dogs along with pizza and dunkin doughnuts for the class during the final...obviously shes awesome.

super easy, and she was really funny. we had 3 papers to write and a portfolio as our "final." we kept a journal that she didnt read but we wrote just one page per class (front of page) and we only need 29 pages filled to get 100% for that assignment. anything over was extra credit. gives xcredit for no absents. used the book a lot but wasnt a pain

Very friendly and compassionate lady. Have to write 3 essays, which aren't too hard. She has conferences before your essay is due to help show you exactly what she wants. Not a lot of reading involved at all.

for humanities lit you read basically whatever novels you want and keep a journal. i actually did the work and although it was time consuming it was kind of worth while. however you can easily get away with doing nothing and get an A. many took advantage of this...people who never showed up and did nothing bs'd their way to an A or B.
