Jeff makes astute observations on students' abilities and creative potential regardless of experience. He's very smart, and a cool guy in general, so he's a cool teacher, too. He offers helpful critique, suggestions and advice without being a butthead.

Jeff Levitch is an outstanding teacher. People take his classes because he is an excellent teacher, he knows his subject matter well, he makes each student feel like they are special, he has proven his craft as an artist, and he isn't a "flaky art teacher". Jeff is dedicated to his classes, is on time and makes each class a win-win. Take this class

Jeff is the worst. he fits in 40+ students of of 4a/b/c into 1 class and gives everyone the same instructions (like why should i take 4B if he's only gonna teach 4A stuff?) VERY hard to contact outside of class.(he ignored 2 of my emails) can't give real feedback. (sugarcoating words) no exams/midterms make grading unclear. smh

took jeff's class for 3d design which isn't originally his thing. he's a great guy and the class had a lot of fun. by the end, we were all singing while working on projects and joking around...jeff is awesome, take at least one of his classes!

I took morethan three classes with Jeff and I would take more. I like his method to teach, he make 15 warm- up before each class, gives some theory and then start drawing, thus method really worked perfectly for me. I took 6 hours class on Saturdays and the cafeteria was closed, he brought food for us ( during whole quarter!)

Comment:

Really loved Mr. Levitch. This guy is a great artist/architect and he is friendly, humorous, and just awesome. The 6 hour class itself was very tedious, but I managed to have fun in his class. I also learned a lot from the man. I am not an art major and took this class for fun. Overall, I am glad I took it with Jeff. Highly recommended!

Comment:

This instructor has a good sense of explaining difficult concepts (like perspective) and how to render them on paper. He knows his stuff since he is a professional artist, and he has amazing patience with all the different levels and backgrounds of his students. You can't get this kind of attention and modeling from most profs. Excellent teacher.

Great at teaching the basics of art, really nice guy but at times seems afraid to give real advise because he thinks it will hurt their feelings. Encourages the use of projectors (WTF) real artist don't use projectors!

He so is a mini richard gear! He helped push my painting skills i enjoyed his time and mellowness. On occassion very funny to be around. he really let me do my own thing as well.

Very talented and inspiring teacher. Teaches the basics and reinforces theory with great in-class projects. He has really helped me bring out the creativity and drawing ability I never thought I possessed.

One of the best teachers I've had at Foothill. He was very clear about the materials and projects, Very helpful with techniques. He would even come over and draw on your paper to give you an idea of what direction to go in. Only complaint with most art teachers: if you do it their way you do better
