When he gets talking fast it's hard to understand him. And more than a few times he was condescending to people who asked questions that he thought were stupid. Quizzes are extremely hard. Try to avoid taking him.

Ding is one of the most well respected professors in his field, and he is not afraid to be harsh. He will beat you into the ground. You will learn a lot though. Ask a lot of questions, and don't let him blow you off.

i thought Ding was a horrible teacher. he quizzes were ridiculously hard and he did not give the class a syllabus to follow. i would not recommend taking him for a professor if it is avoidable.
