Dr. Killian was hands down my all-time favorite professor. I took both her senior seminar and entomology classes. She made both classes fun and adventurous; and what I learned from her, I've retained throughout my life. Thirty-one years later, I can still name all of the body parts of the grasshopper! Take her classes!!

Such a sweet little old lady who truly loves what she teaches. She tells you EXACTLY what to expect on the tests, and the only thing that makes them hard is the amount of material that you need to know(it's all memorizing!) She gives you all of the information you need on canvas(and more.) Don't even buy the book- you won't need it

Dr. Killian tells you exactly how her tests are formatted, and what to expect. Everything you need to know comes directly from her slideslecture. Book is not necessary but can help reinforce material. She is always ready to answer questions and help clarify concepts or give advice. Sometimes goes on tangents but it keeps lecture interesting!

Dr. Killian is a great professor! I am not a fan of Biology but her lectures are very interesting and she likes to communicate with her students. Going to class is necessary because thats where her tests come from. Tests are very detailed so be careful! Labs are fun with her. Definitely take her class if you are taking biology.

Comment:

Dr. Killian was a great person, and an excellent professor. She uses examples in power point, as well as from her own life experience. It was not the easiest class I took, but she definitely tries to engage students, and I had to appreciate that. I also loved her jokes. Overall, if you need to do your biology gen ed, I think you should take her!

I've had Dr. Killian for Parasitology, Entomology and Senior seminar. She's a great lady very helpful. Her tests aren't overly hard just go to class and she'll give you everything you need. She's very passionate a must have teacher for any biology class.

Dr. Killian is one of the best Bio professors I have ever had the pleasure of taking. She is kind, interesting, and really funny in her lectures. She told us what would be on the tests, and the exams were really easy. The course, invertebrate zoology, was one of the most interesting classes I've taken, and the labs were really fun. TAKE IT!

While attendance is not mandatory, go to class because you will learn everything you need for tests and she has blue book activities to boost your grade. You only have 4 tests, most of which aren't that hard if you look over your notes or the notes/pps online. Wonderful woman, super helpful. I hated my previous bio prof but she is great!

Nice lady, but hard class. The only grades for the class are 4 tests and "blue book" exercises. The tests are not easy at all. She recommends that you take all the test material and "commit it to memory." There are no grades for labs, but they take the whole time to do because she goes over everything. She's a fine professor overall.

Dr. Killian is a sweet lady. She really wants you to do well and is happy to help. She teaches religiously from powerpoints, and gives them to you, so note taking is pretty much unnecessary. The material can get a little tough, but study the notes and a decent grade is fine. She really hates it when people don't come to class, so just show up.

I took Dr. K for 121 and 127 and she is absolutely adorable. She goes off on tangents and the tests are hard, to pass you have to read the notes A LOT. She curves most tests and attendance is semi-mandatory. Notes and powerpoints are online too. It was a hard class but she was one of my favorite professors both semesters.

Ok, really nice lady mixed with 60's moon beams. The notes are like a labyrinth that David Bowie could not find the center of. Power points of unordered data. I found the tests to have 10 questions per that were total ????? types. Like out of nowhere questions. That's your road block to an A. Can u pick those unknowns out of the notes for an A.

She is good at explaining things but the class is boring and she goes on a lot of tangents. She is really nice though and always available to help you or go over things! Her exams are difficult because there always seem to be questions that aren't straight from material..left wondering.. "where'd this come from??" haha

Professor Killian is, in my opinion, one of the best teachers at UMW. She's great at explaining the material and is very accessible. She's very passionate about the material too. Grading-wise, I thought she was easy, and has no graded labs which is really nice :) Tests are a combination of multiple choice and short answer.

Even though biology is not my major she made the lectures really engaging. She cracks jokes and makes things easier to understand through stories and analogies. Very hard class, though, and studying your butt off is key.

Suuuuch a nice professor. She really loves what she does and it shows in every lecture. Power Points are always clear and she is very helpful is anything is confusing (which it rarely is). Must study for tests because they are worded a bit difficultly. Does not believe in extra credit but she will help you in anyways to help you get by.
