There are 7 exams that you take. One every 2 weeks. He lets you have the weekend to take them online and you have to use the textbook. You get 2 tries on each exam. By the end of the semester, lowest exam grade is dropped. Attendance is 50% of your grade and exams are the other 50%. As long as you go to class and do well on exams, youll pass.

Our class average was an F. There's 2 categories worth 50% each (exams & discussions) so if you fail in 1, you're out of luck The exams are difficult, it's a mix of multiple choice, matching, multiple answer and short answer. Only plus is that he grades quickly so you know how horrible you're doing but don't look for feedback, you won't find it.

RUN !He dose not go by HIS syllabus or instructions He provides . There are weekly discussion boards and test every 2 weeks. The test consist of lengthy paragraphs and quotes which are not from the book or the lecture power points he provides . He Expects discussion boards to be 300 words or more to receive a C . Anything under 300 words is a D

Smith is by far the most engaging and fun lecturer. His material is always great and he is always energetic. He knows the material extremely well, so much he can seem very boastful at times. READ. If you do not you will not pass his weekly quizzes. Be prepared to write a big paper that he grades very hard as well. Fun but extremely hard grader.

This class is basically an online class because on this first day he tells you that attendance is optional, and if you show up to class unprepared he will kick you out. You have to read the two textbooks/watch super long youtube lectures/write discussion posts every week, which totals up to about 4-5 hours. His class is very annoying and tedious.

Participate in the discussion questions, they really matter. Lots of reading but no specifics as to where the test questions will come from. I learned a little more about history while taking this class, but if history is not your major and it doesn't interest you, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!

You never get interaction with the professor himself, just his TA and he is rude. The grading system is not accurate. I took a test and had one grade, went to the grade book and the grade dropped & there was no explanation given as to why. Do not take this class of you want to preserve your GPA. Participate as much as possible in discussion.

The good thing about this class is that you don't have to physically attend, he tells you not to come after the 1st day. The load is heavy. There are 2 books and a YouTube lecture that is always an hour or more. It is imperative that you read from both books and listen to the lecture bc you don't know where he will get the info from for the test.

I don't recommend him at all, especially if you don't like history or if you're not a history major. Him and his GA are disrespectful, they will talk about students low grades in front of the student. Does not grade fairly.

If I had tried I could have made an A. His Youtube lectures are amazing to clarify the information in the textbook. If you read, listen to the corresponding lecture, and do weekly online discussion making a B, or even an A, is accomplishable. Try on the test, while he may not give extra credit, it is possible to make above a 100 on a test.

This class isn't that bad! As long as you do your readings, and speak a little during class you'll pass this class. Now if you don't read, then yeah you will fail! Dr. Smith is a great teacher, and knows his History! I really enjoyed having a teacher that actually knew what they were talking about. His discussing's were very interesting!
