Make sure to show up to class, read the material, and be prepared to write a one-page single-spaced paper on the required chapters every week. The lectures are long, participation is a must. He forgot to assign my class a short paper so it was given as extra credit, which was a god sent for those who do not participate regularly.

He's very into what he does (teaching history). He'd be a great professor if you were a history major or minor, he knows a lot about the school and what he's talking about. If you're taking History 104 because it's mandatory before graduation the class will be hard. He will make you read 10 books and have a 1 pg single spaced overview every class.

Really nice and helpful. However, he tends to get carried away with his jokes. I also don't agree with his method of having the students lead the discussion.

One of the worst classes I've taken at Lasell! I would rather staple my nuts to my leg than take this class again! If every professor expected students to put in the time required just to do the regular assignments, not to mention the additional course work, every day would be an all nighter. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

Very long readings in short amount of time to do them. 2 page summary for each assignment with paper at the end of class. Huge on lectures. Must do readings to do assignments. Very dry.

He is a great inspiration and helps me not only as a teacher but as my adviser. He is very blunt and makes things enjoyable by not stifling ones.

Professor Aieta is very entertaining. A little bit of a strange sense of humor, however, overall a very informative professor.

Interesting class, there's a ton of reading and writing involved so certainly not for slackers. Incredibly knowledgeable man, and heavily biased towards some ideas/thoughts and it shows. However, he is respectful towards opposing points and encourages healthy debate. Only problem is that his jokes are LAME...and consumes too much of class time.

Joe is a great teacher, but has you read way too much. Its about 120-150 pages a week, but with this class it was once a week so you forget about the reading until th last minute. great class discussions, i did really like how the student had to present the previous reading. over all not that bad though

if you dont read, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. if you dont read the class is so boring and you get nothing out of going. if you do read you have very interesting debates and learn a lot. he makes you think out of the box about everything, and wants you to have your own individual opinion about history and its events

In the ghetto of community colleges rarely will you see a man as learned and insightful as Professor Aieta (or Joe as he likes to be called). His class was unforgettable and the course was taught in a very instructive analytical way.
