Comment:

Lab is easy since she isn't a tough grader and always gives a lecture on calculations before the lab. Her tests are somewhat similar to the practice exams she posts. Final was a bit more difficult than exams. Gives 50 extra credit points. Lecture notes are a bit unorganized. In order to pass you have to out in a lot of time to study.

I took Chem 8 online - simple, but a lot to do. A lot of reading, the homework took at least 2 hours. That's normal for any science class, I think. Simple, easy to understand, but set a good amount of time aside to get a good grade.

I recommend taking her class only if you are willing to commit a relatively extreme amount of time to it. If you are taking any other classes which demand any reasonable amount of effort and time, please do yourself a favor and do NOT take this class. Good: fast replies, lots of extra credit. Bad: Tons of papers, unclear answers, way too much work.

Professor Oakdale is such a kind and caring educator, she will make sure you understand the material, she is super helpful during lab and very descriptive. She gives a lot of opportunity for extra credit, and she covers the material at a good pace. Her tests are not very hard and she takes a lot of the questions from the homework.

Comment:

An amazing teacher! She doesn't just monitor the discussion boards, but she participates in them to help you better understand the subject. She's really nice and cares about seeing her students succeed. I highly recommend her class!

she was a really kind person. she memorized all the material which she would like to teach. she gave enough information during the lab, that's very useful, she graded the lab report harsh. the test was difficult, it has multiple choice and free response(which from your homework) she was a nice person. study hard to get A

Professor Oakdale was very helpful. She also gives plenty opportunity for extra credit. Class was challenging overall but you learn a lot. I would definitely recommend taking her class.

Took her for Chem 24B and OChem 75A probably taking her again for 75B. Chemistry is not easy and there are not that many popular professors that seem to make it easy. But Oakdale is one of them. She is patient and gets to the point. Do all the homework and some.

I took professor Oakdale for phys 10 and she was a great professor. She really knew what she was teaching. Only fallback is her expectations are a bit much for students not majoring in science. She is always willing to help and wants you to pass her class.

Had her as a substitute Lab Instructor. She makes sure that you understand exactly what you are supposed to do. It is clear that she know her stuff and she explains concepts very clearly. She makes discussion very interactive and usually demonstrates key instructions in the labs. I had a very positive experience with her and i would take her again.

Comment:

She's very nice , however she's very unclear in her lectures and doesn't give examples or enough info. Her class is easy to pass. She gives a lot of extra-credit. You will get an A for sure, but you will not learn or get a solid understanding. You will definitely struggle for future chemistry courses. As a professor, I would not recommend her.

She is just awesome and super helpful. She explaines things very well. I took her class during summer and I got an A. Not a hard class as long as you study. She also offered a lot of extra credits.

Lecture and lab: Assignments for both. A lot of assignments help with a good grade. Lab is fun. Must get each sheet signed off. PICK A GOOD PARTNER (Vital to teamwork) Lenient towards due dates (not on research paper though). Approachable. TEST ARE SO CONFUSING. Know your stuff and it is not that bad. It is possible to get a good grade. SHOW UP.

Great teacher, she may be a bit disorganized at times, but is definitely passionate about the subject, and her enthusiasm is easy to rub off. Dr. Oakdale is an extremely FAIR teacher so as long as you do your work and you try, you will be fine! oh and DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!!! (specially on lab write ups)

Ok. before thinking you will find a easy chem teacher, think again. chem is hard. plain and simple. I promise if you do all the hw and extra credit, this class will make much more sense. DO NOT write down the answers in the back. If you want to do good on the exams, Really do the hw and read the chapter. Oakdale is awesome. prob hot in her day lol

Very hard grader.. Labs are extreamly hard and poorly written... Overall shes a good teacher but horrible exams and personality.. AVOID HER!!!!
