I had no background in AAPTIS before coming to this class, but I got an A; it was not too difficult, and I learned alot. If you need an Upper Level Writing, I would highly recommend this class, Kader is the best.

Really great class. Fair workload - 2 papers, quiz, 1 final research paper. I think that Professor Konuk was very helpful & a VERY fair greader. Also, the information in this class (Islam in the West) was both very interesting and such a relevant topic in today's world. I HIGHLY recommend this class!

If you need an ULWR take this class! Readings are interesting and light. Class is based entirely around discussion. She requires 3 papers. 2 of them she reads and then has you re-write them after giving advice. She also let's you decide what your participation grade is (don't be shy of suggesting an A).

She talks really fast and is a bit difficult to understand, but she has very valuable and interesting things to say. The class was one of the best that I've taken. Lots of reading and lots of discussion - so be prepared for class. She's very helpful, and a fair grader.

i loved this class. what we read was absolutely fascinating, and dr. konuk facilitated discussion very well. i never thought i'd be reading and discussing freud and kafka in german, but this class pushed me to do so.
