She is very nice and teaches pretty well. Usually youll just get a worksheet to work on and those are pretty easy. There was a pop quiz on a reading we had to do. For papers she will skim through your paper if you ask her to and gives good feedback.

I enjoyed this class a lot! 100% recommend for those who love to read. Coming to class to attend lectures will help on the tests. Tests are easy if you attend class. For the short story unit be ready for pop quizzes. Take notes you can use them for short answer on the tests.

Read the books ahead, use audiobook if you're short on time or need motivation. But all the books are all very interesting and she gives time if you're falling behind. Fill out the sheets she gives you. Study the sheets. Goes over notes in class. She's very lenient when needed to be. She's hilarious and caring. Prof Saylor is such a sweet person.

I hated this class. It was obscenely easy-- I didn't read a single book for the entire semester and I still got an A-- and one of the tests was pulled directly from a SparkNotes review. Ms. Saylor is a rather judgemental reader, and wants you to pass judgement on characers as well, ie. "Isn't Frankenstein just a jerk?" Very boring, not worth it.

Sci-Fi Fantasy is an overall really enjoyable class and Prof. Saylor helps make it that way. she is clear about what to read, and doesn't force you to discuss. Make sure you show up because the discussions are long and can help on the tests. The tests are extremely easy if you read the books, and go to class. I definitely recommend this class.

She's a great professor. Sometimes goes off on a tangent but otherwise makes class very easy and enjoyable. She also makes sure that everything is fair, and doesn't force you into discussion. Just make sure you read the required texts and show up to class.

Easy to communicate with. Does not post grades. Boring lectures with same routines that arent very effective. I'd say find a professor with a fairer grading system too.

Prof. Saylor is one of the best! She is very well read in science fiction and fantasy literature and fluent their themes. The required readings are classics and highly enjoyable. Watched cool movies between sections, and one project. Easy tests! Take notes and participate in discussions and you'll do fine. Highly...HIGHLY recommended.

Sci-fi and Fantasy was a fun class. Kathy is very interesting and entertaining. No textbooks, just novels and such. Class discussion was interesting. Tests weren't difficult. I got behind on the reading for a while and still managed to keep up. I definitely recommend this class.

First day of class she was very intimidating about grading scale but once the class got moving she made clear what she expected from her students. I enjoyed her class and her semi witty sense of humor. If you are looking for an easy 1022 class I suggest another teacher because she really makes you work for your grade but it's worth it in the end.

She's a truly wonderful lady, however, she is THE STRICTEST on format. Everything, I swear, everything needs to be in place, especially citations. There were many times I thought about dropping the class, when writing essays. The essay content didn't matter too much. As long as it makes sense and refers to the topic. Take if you want a challenge.

Prof. Saylor definitely has an interest in Sci-Fi/Fantasy and is very enthusiastic. I didn't really felt like I learned anything, though. She gave us study guides but then gave us all the answers in class. The questions for the exams come off the study guides. You can get by just reading through the notes and still pass the tests. An easy class.

Was good in Comp2. For SciFi & Fantasy, she is a great teacher, loves the subject, talks in depth about the books & watch a few goofy old movies. Never condescending, doesn't force you to speak in class but encourages it. Had 2 pop quizzes so just stay on top of the reading. Loved most the books, many classics. Easy class if you like SciFi &Fantasy

Very nice lady. Attendance isn't really a must! She does grade very harshly. ALthough she allows you to bring in your paper and she will mark all your errors. Make sure you know how to write a Bibliography! That's a MUST!
