Comment:

Professor Cosand clearly loves literature and she does a good job motivating her students to put forth effort. There is homework due each work, readings and discussions based on the readings. Her grading is clear and she gives great feedback.

Prof. Cosand is really the BEST English professor out there. There is a lot of homework, so don't slack off. She's a tough grader, but if you put your time and a lot of effort, you'll easily pass the class. This was really the first time that I've received an A for English! If you take her class, you will really improve on your writing skills!

Ms. Cosand was actually the first prof to REALLY teach me how to write an essay. She is a tough grader but definitely gives good feedback and even lets you revise your final essay for a higher letter grade. Not only is she a great prof but a sweet person overall, she genuinely loves her students and helps so much! If you can, TAKE HER CLASS!

By far the best English I have ever had. She is extremely caring. Her lectures are very interesting and material is very helpful. Be prepared to write essays and responses (for book reading). She is very flexible with her schedule for office hours and TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM FOR ESSAYS! Loved her class! You won't regret taking her class!

The best English prof./teacher I've had yet. Very personable and really wants her students to pass. A few short stories to analyze and chapters from a reading book assigned before each class. Discussion posts based on what is read. Three essays based on the readings. Email her and she'll get back to you. TAKE HER CLASS!

Such a warm, inviting, and intelligent professor. She really shines in her ability to lead discussions without letting them go off the rails. She knows SO much about literature and you walk away from class having learning and thinking more deeply than you thought you were capable of. Amazing reading list -- loved every piece in class! WONDERFUL!

THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Thoroughly teaches all curriculum making the work easy and enjoyable. If something was not understood she took the extra time to explain it. Provides just enough outside topic related stories to keep things entertaining. I would 100% recommend this class. It felt like a giant book club & many kids finished with A's

She is an amazing professor!!! However this class is not a walk in the park you must show up to class or you will be dropped if you miss more than 4 classes. She goes over all the paper prompts in class with you so it is clear for when you are at home. Lots of homework and papers. If you struggle in writing papers or english then Cosand is for you!

Excellent teacher! She provides feedback in all the essay assignments, and she gives you a second chance to turn them in before they get a grade. Try no to skip her class, and do all your homework if you want to pass. She is funny and very respectful. No quizzes for her class, expect the final. I am taking her again for English 100.................

She is so nice, and she will help you a lot in writing. If you want to improve your skill, she is the best. I took Eng099, textbooks are needed. There are 3 out of class essays and 4 in-class essays. You have to pass all 3 out of class essays and 2 in-class. She will give very detailed comments on each essay. It helps you a lot.

Cosand was a good professor and she gives a lot of extra credit. you have to show up to pass and you have weekly online hw. there are two in class essays that are super easy and the final is optional and you can take it for extra credit.

Mrs. Cosand was a great instructor and very kind person, it's too bad she isn't teaching 110 this fall. The assignments and frequent group work center around current social issues. My only criticism is the vague, sprawling homework questions that end up longer than essays. Textbook articles are easily taken to task if you're not left-leaning ;)

Highly recommend Pro. Cosand to anyone who needs an english class. 9 easy hw assignments based on the reading in the textbook, 3 at-home essays which she offers so much time to prepare, and 2 in-class essays. If you do well on the two in-class essays, you will not have to do the final. Pro. Cosand grades really fairly. You won't regret taking hers.

A big Thanks to my ESL 071 and Eng. 099 professors for their recommendations that I got the most amazing professor. Pro. Cosand is super sweet, caring, and understanding. She is always there for her students. She creates a friendly learning enviroment. Her lectures are interesting. She is a fair grader. I would absolutely take her class again.

Hands down my favorite professor I've ever had. I took her for English 100 and English 110 and wish I could take her again. I hate english and still loved her class. She genuinely cares about students and is an extremely fair grader. Put in the work and you will get an A! 9 homework writing assignments, 3 essays, 1 midterm, 1 final in class essay.

She is my favorite teacher at golden west. I loved the class discussions, it made class easier and more fun to attend. She takes time to make sure her students are doing well and always offers help. Her classes are definitely ones worth taking... You will not regret it.

Comment:

She is really helpful , and not a harsh grader. You can tell she really loves to help her students. This class does require a textbook but its only 10 dollars on amazon. There are weekly readings (easy) , 3 in class essays (the last one is optional) & 3 major papers. I really enjoyed this class she's a great teacher !
