Comment:
I have mixed feelings about Dr. Thu. Part of the time I thought he was a very intelligent, passionate professor, other times I felt he was extremely egocentric and rude. He definitely knew what he was talking about, but was sometimes rude to the students. Also, I got my first B in this class, when I undoubtedly deserved an A. Would not take again.

The class was only graded on two exams and a semester long project. I showed up for nearly every class and took notes. I was shocked when I received my first exam score back . He corrected me on details that I thought were extra to add in (corrected my "early 1900's" to "1930's". Thought I turned my grade around and just got a D on my transcript.

Professor Thu is a really decent professor. He's clear about what he expects and he does his best to make the material as clear as possible. The lectures can be a little dry, but all in all, you will never see something on the test that he did not tell you would be there. If you do the study guides, there is no reason to do poorly on his tests.

Dr. Thu is extremely knowledgable, but uses PowerPoint too much for his lectures-not many pics, just everything he's saying. It made the class a little boring for me. He's a fair grader and very nice.

worst teacher ever!! very egocentric, does not help or gives good advice. His papers are evaluated as graduate work even though they are NOT. Worst subject, boring , and overall disappointing. If I did not like much cultural anthropology before, now I HATE IT!! don't take him, he will grade you hard. My first and ONLY B I got it with him.

Nice guy. Exams deal nothing with his teaching. His tests are on material that is irrelevant to the course.

i really can't imagine how hard people studied or took notes for them to not do alright in Dr. Thu's class. He cares a great deal about what he teaches. TAKE notes. and STUDY them in detail for tests. :) I'm not an anthro major, it was just a good/well taught class.
