A kind and funny (slightly older) professor. He makes Contemp Lit Theory fun - and that's saying something! He explains everything simply and uses diagrams on the whiteboard a lot to help you out. V clear on what the learning objectives are, replies to emails quite quickly as well. Only negative - his handwriting is IMPOSSIBLE to read!

He assigns a lot of reading, but listening to his lectures in class and spark notes work for the lazy student.

The Literature of the Holocaust course I took with Dr. Andrews was the course that made the greatest impact on my understanding of the richness of literature surrounding this time period and on the meaningful lessons that I could apply to my life as a result of studying this body of work. If you get a chance, take his course, your life will change.

Dr. Andrews was an amazing professor. I'm only on my second term of my freshman year, so this may not mean much yet, but he is my favorite professor thus far. He is very understanding of students opinions and always seems to be happy to see students show interest in the topic. Would definitely recommend taking him.

Dr. Andrews was awesome! All the test material is covered in class discussions, so I suggest attending class as often as possible. Use Sparknotes for the books but actually read the short story handouts. He's a real easy grader and you'll do fine if you just show up to class and pay attention.

Nice guy. Good teacher, but a lot of outside of class reading. However, you can spark note and pass quizzes.

He will kick you out of class if he sees your phone or any other electronic device. If you have to leave class early on the day of a test, even if you've completed and turned it in, you won't get credit for it. He starts speaking in German randomly and expects you to know what he's talking about. Do not take his class.

Andrews is my favorite professor so far! You can tell he loves what he's doing and he's always there for his students. As long as you read the novels you'll be fine on the quizzes and exams. He's a very sweet guy!

This class was a breeze. As long as you read the novels, and use detail in your written exams, you will get an 'A'.

Great Professor does grade kind of hard make sure to read the assigned readings because the quizzes and exams are from the readings. He is willing to help you if you go to his office hours which is very helpful if you need clarfication on somthing you don't understand. Make sure to study for the quizzes and exams and he offers extra credit !

I really enjoyed Dr. Andrews. Once you get passed his habits of interrupting you with 'uh huh', he allows you to engage and better understand the material. He encourages students to take initiative in discussions. Also, he is strict about students not having electronic devices before or during class and even threatens to kick students out for it.

Easy class. He prepares you for the exams with a study guide, he says the books are required but I winged it and went the whole term using spark notes. Nice guy, rambles on sometimes but he's friendly in a dad sort of way.

He is a great teacher! I enjoyed the group discussions and they were very helpful when it came to the midterms (there are 2 midterms) and the final. As long as you read the novels assigned and take notes this class should be great! He likes to randomly pick people for answers, which I was fine with because he does not reject any answers.

He's very soft spoken and kind of rambles sometimes, and when you're stating your opinion he goes "uh huh, uh huh" and "yeah, yeah" a lot, which distracted me and threw me off when I was trying to talk. He's a nice guy, though, and wants to help you learn.

I have had this teacher twice now, and the first time I received a bad grade and blamed it on him. but really its because I didn't work hard, but now I'm invested and my grades are amazing! The class really isn't hard. You just have to show up and take good notes. I would recommend him for sure

This teacher was one of the worst that I have had. He has a terrible habit of saying "uh huh" and "yeah yeah" it is almost beyond distracting. He also seems to mostly have discussions with only a few people in the class. His quizzes often have very little to do with what he talks about the most in the class.

Andrews is awesome! He is super nice and fairly easy! There is a lot of reading, but if you keep up the class is a breeze. Going to class is pretty mandatory, he explains the readings in depth, which really helps on the quizzes there are every 2 weeksish. He's awesome and I would recommend him to anyone!
