She is very liberal however so am I. The Class is very difficult, however it should not be, it is mainly her grading scale on tests which causes this.

Professor Holland is great. While she is liberal she is open about her bias so I found it to be a positive thing. I tend to lean more libertarian so I strongly disagreed with some of her points but it was great having her perspective to help fine tune mine. She is very smart and if I ever had a question she couldn't answer she would refer me to someone who could. Very fun, energetic, informative class. Do hat she says and you'll do fine in the class.

She's a great teacher, but she threw a few questions in on the final that no one I spoke to had more than a sentence of information about. The class wasn't that challenging, and she was entertaining to listen to.

I took this class as a freshman and it was my most difficult class. She forewarned the freshman of this, too. So knowing that, I made sure to read the textbook and study ahead for the exams. She held a review session for each test and I recommend going to these! She's opinionated, so if that bothers you, don't take the course from her.

This class was hard. The questions on the tests were hard to understand and the tests aren't worth very many points, so if you miss a few, you get a bad grade. I hated this class.

I walked into this class with a very liberal view on politics (or so I thought) as well as a higher knowledge of American history and government. I find her personal (liberal!) opinions imposing, underdeveloped and under supported. i have had better pol science teachers in high school (liberals, conservatives and moderates alike)-edit of last entry

she is a really passionate teacher. although she won't take roll, go to class. become involved and you should have no problem in the class. listen for key words indaciating what will be on the test and copy it down for study. i never even cracked the text book open and understood evreything fine because of the excelent teaching style.

I really liked Prof Holland, she was very nice and is very passionate about her subject. However, I would NOT recommend this class unless you are going into Political Science. A counselor recommended I take this class (I'm a comp sci major) and I really didn't have the background to answer the questions to the level the rest of the class did.

took her gender and politics class in spring 2001. The woman hates Utah it seems...well if you're a feminist then Utah is probably not the state for you. However she was willing to help and answer questions, but they tests were all essay and that sucked.

I have learned so much from just one semester with Professor Holland. It is because of her that I voted for the first time last year, and was forced to figure out my own political standpoint, and views on some touchy subjects. I adore her.
