Comment:

All the test questions were straight from the text book, word for word. The test were online and at the end of the test you get your test score, but you do not get to see the questions you missed. There were two papers to write and they were a lot of work considering the level of this class. I found the class not worth taking.

Really nice person, knows her stuff, but should not be an instructor. If you have trouble with the book and are looking for another example, she is not the one to go to. She restates what the book says or, "Didn't we go over that in class?"

Teacher expects specifics from assignments but doesn't clarify at all. First week of the semester she wrote the class saying everyone's assignments were late but the syllabus said otherwise. She also didn't update the syllabus from summer dates.

Linda should not be teaching. This is an online class, you must have the windows program so make sure you have that before signing up. You are not awarded any points on the labs unless they are completed with 100%. She was no help and basically refered to the book the whole time. Dont take this class from her.

To be honest, she was nearly useless. The homework always covered items we wouldn't touch in class for a week. I did rather well, but only because I spent part of the prior summer learning Python. She would focus on Javadoc and GUI styles weeks before even touching conditionals. We only started conditionals 2 weeks before the end of the term. Avoid

This class would have been easy if the Linda was any kind of help at all, but she was not. I would ask her for help because I would get stuck on something and she was just mimic what the book said rather than clarify it, like I couldn't read or something! Also If you make one tiny mistake on a lab you get 0 points, I just don't think that's right!

Linda did a good job covering the material in the book. The homework assignments were involved, but most weren't overwhelming. The tests were challenging, with trick questions where you not only had to know your stuff, but also look for the non obvious answer. She was available during office hours and gave helpful feedback and suggestions.

Very unclear teaching methods. She gave no explanation behind the code she expected us to somehow magically know in CS 161. When asked what something meant, she'd say "it's not important now", and it would appear on the homework for the next day. Despite my efforts, I had to drop the class.

Very unclear teaching methods....it was like she was reading from a teleprompter when teaching java. I now know that the reason she never helped me in lab assignments, is she didnt know either!! this teacher should not be teaching Java..period
