Comment:
People keep complaining about how her lectures are 'hard to understand', but she's actually very clear most of the time, and shows practical demonstrations during lecture. You might need to review formulas, but nothing out of the ordinary. Also, she's a generous grader, and has built in extra credit. You can use a pdf instead of printing lab papers

She is a very nice lady but not a good teacher. Be prepared to use YouTube, Physics Classroom, Chegg, and your classmates for help. Double check everything she does because she doesn't use a calculator and doesn't check the book before teaching about formulas.

One of the best professors I've ever had. she is knowledgeable, smart, and always willing to help. But most of all he is a very kind person with a golden heart. i wish I could take more classes with him. You learn a lot and will leave the class with full knowledge in physics

She is absent minded during lecture and does not know how to explain concepts well. She does not know how to speak english clearly. You will not be prepared for UC STEM from her curriculum.

Her accent is so thick you can't understand a word she is saying, so unfortunately she has no business teaching something that can be difficult like Physics. Concepts are brushed over too quickly, and you basically have to teach yourself everything from the book. If you need to go farther in physics in the future, don't take her. It won't work out.

Comment:
Lin is very kind and wants all of her students to do well. However, her lack of clarity in her explanations, and hit-or-miss coverage of material makes it very difficult to understand and keep up. Most learning is done outside the class, but fortunately tests are often very similar to the assigned HW. (Grain of salt: this was 6 week a summer class)

Comment:
Lin is not great at teaching concepts but goes over examples in detail. Work through book examples to teach yourself. Tests are based on quizzes and homework (fair game), and she offers quite a few extra credit points curves near the end to help borderline students. Helpful in lab and office hours, and really wants you to do well.

Pros: Labs are useful and similar lab questions are on the tests. If you understand the homework and the labs you will probably get at least get a B. Good teacher, helpful in office hours. Cons: English is not her first language

She's not that bad at all. Her tests aren't that hard if you do the hw and pay atention in lab. She gives out extra credit here and there. And lab is pretty easy; wayyyyyy easier than SJSU phys labs. Overall tough subject but she did well explaining it.

She is a very nice and friendly person. The only problem is: She shouldn't be a teacher. I had to basically teach myself with the book. Easy labs. If you care to learn, go elsewhere. If you don't care, go ahead.

Once you get past her thick accent, Mrs. Lin is a good and easy teacher. She assigns homework out of the book, and goes over the homework in detail in class. The problems on the exams were all problems taken directly from the homework and quizzes. I recommend this teacher and I am taking her again for Phys 4B.

It is community college, however,I think WVC can do better. Don't think she understands physics and if she does she does a good job of hiding it. Unorganized, difficult to understand, and incapable of explaining concepts/questions. 4A is doable with her, albeit agonizing, but 4B with her is not doable.

I understood everything she said. Takes exact hw prob. and puts it on the exam. You get to drop one exam. She is extremely nice and awesome. She is understanding. I had a B, but somehow ended up with an A, don't even know how. During exams, she stares at you like a hawk, kinda scary but you'll get use to her. You want an easy phys teacher, take her

I totaly love the comment about the nail ladies and agree with it.

I like her. Funny, and if you are from San Jose you should be used to the accent. I understand her fine, but some of her wording cracks me up. Overall a good teacher and a funny sense of humor. I will take her classes again.

I don't understand why everyone is complaining about her accent. She's not that bad. She's a really cool professor. Exams are based on homework/quizzes/labs. Drops one test. Hard final. Works hw problems in class. Really nice and helpful. Go to her office hours! There is some extra credit. Exams are not too bad,it's stuff that you have seen before.
