Easily the best professor in the MET program, not the most available professor but best at explaining concepts and applying what you're learning to what you'll actually be doing in the job field.

Dr. Bentley is a really hard teacher. His powerpoint notes do not help you study at all. He gives a study guide but that info is barely on the tests. He doesn't clarify information well and his tests are difficult because majority of the test isn't on the study guide. I would not suggest him.

Comment:

I had Dr. Bentley for an online course, and I HIGHLY recommend the course online with him. Lots of reading, but the reading is interesting especially if you are a meteorology major. Very clear on what he wants his students to get out of the course/assignments and projects. Very helpful and posts lots of personal experience with areas of study.

Remote Sensing Online-good lecturer, good class, little use of the text. Hard to find this prof on campus, wanted to meet him since I was in online class over summer, never around?

He is a very clear lecturer, gives fair exams, and is very approachable (particularly by e-mail). A good man with whom to have a conversation. Even though the class was on the easy side, definitely a painless way to get the Synoptic I requirement done.

Comment:

Delivers crystal-clear lectures that almost over-simplify the material. Gave a very easy, fully online final exam. From my understanding, answers e-mail messages very quickly but is in his office only when he is required to be. Is a nice, affable man with an endearing Kentucky accent. Overall, highly recommended. Rate: A-.

By far one of my favorite teachers of all time. Funny, approachable, helpful and easy to relate with. His classes are not stressful at all, and I've taken many, many classes with him. Just an awesome guy, very hip, hehe. He really wants his students to succeed, so if you have an issue, don't be afraid to tell him. Very understanding.

i got a b without even trying in the class. the guy is very helpful and always willing to help. he gives great study guides and curves tests. great teacher. always let us out early. and didnt even give us a final.

Bentley is a great lecturer and the he makes class entertaining. There are three exams which are very easy because of his podcasts and study guides. There are quizzes but they are online and you can take them as many times as you want. I ended up with a 96% in his class. He also lets you out 30 min early every lecture. Strongly recommend the class!

Dr. Bentley is an excellent professor of meteorology, and I strongly recommend taking him for the GEOG 105 course, especially if you want to learn more about weather and climate. His lectures are clear and entertaining; the work and study load is minimal; exams are easy and based off Powerpoint; and, you actually do learn something. A great gen-ed

Great teacher, best teacher in my freshman year so far. Power Point notes are great to have and attendance isnt mandatory but you should go to get the little hints for the tests. Study and you'll be fine.

Very nice. He is very interactive with the class even in a 400 student lecture hall. He will keep you awake and keeps the material interesting. Don't buy the book you will never use it! Just print off the notes and study for tests, gives great study guides

Dr. Bentley tries to make class as fun as possible, but its weather, so its not that interesting. He's very knowledgeable, ends class early, gives 3 tests, 2 online quizzes, 2 post quizzes, and a an assessment. Print out the power points, go to the lectures, email him with questions and you'll be set for the tests.

Dr. Bentley is a great guy--he has an easygoing and friendly teaching style that makes a boring class at least bearable. You'll have to study just like any other class, but he's the most approachable teacher I know and will GLADLY answer every single question with a smile. He's pretty easy to look at, too, if you know what I mean ;)
