Comment:

I don't usually rate professors but I had to because he's really terrible. He doesn't explain how to do assignments, until you specifically ask him. He also helps only the people he chooses. Hes filed complaints against students with no evidence just because he assumed they were plagiarizing. Unfortunately, he's the only Prof for a mandatory course

Comment:

Tough class for sure, you should attend and pay attention, but you learn a lot from Prof Maute, gives great feedback on projects, just ask for help if needed. Classes can be hard, but I have learned more in the two classes from him than I have learned in two years in other departments

Can't question his knowledge/experience but he's an awful teacher. Sadly, he's the only prof who teaches ADMS4260. He can't use technology, he doesn't know how to write and comes across as creepy/socially awkward. York NEED to pick a diff prof, this guy marks too hard and most students believe he makes up grades depending on how much he likes you.

Knows his stuff, but cannot teach for the life of him. You'll leave class confused, he'll tell you to come for office hours, and you'll leave office hours even more confused. To make things worse, he LITERALLY (not exaggerating) writes like my 3 year old cousin.

Comment:

One of the best Professor's at York. Yes it is complex subject matter, and he expects students to attend class, do work, and put in effort, unlike many other marketing courses - but his attitude reflects each student's. He gives back what you put in, and usually more. Few professor's will go so far to ensure students understand the subject at hand.

Dr. Maute is a great professor, I'm actually surprised with the amount of negative feedback. He will go out of his way to explain complex concepts to his students in an efficient manner. If you show any interest in research he will be more than willing to assist you. Tough luck if you're lazy.

Professor really does know his material, but doesn't explain very well. Many, many students were confused as to what to do for the assignments and group project. Exam wasn't too bad, but I studied. Material is very dry unless you really have an interest for Marketing Research. Lectures are pretty boring, but make sure you go if u want to understand

One of the absolute worse profs at York. His lessons are highly unorganized, his answer to almost any question is 'what do you think?'. I'm pretty sure he is brilliant but, he simply can't teach. careless profs please stick to your day job and stop ruining school.

This professor really knows his stuff, but doesn't know how to teach it. People in my class didn't understand a thing from his lessons. The notes he gives are really weird & unorganized. There were quite a few people in my class that failed his course 2-4 times. He's the only prof teaching this course at the moment, so we have no choice.

It is amazing to me how many people did not attend class and expected to pass this is a complicated subject and attendance is necessary to understand Yes you have to work hard and Prof Maute is more than willing to help those who help themselves I passed the course but attending class and paying attention certainly helps your outcome

Agree with the Dec. 27/05 posting. Prof goes too fast. He definitely knows his stuff, but can't teach it in a clear & understandable way. He had to bell curve the exam as we all nearly failed. Final group project is brutal with no explanation given at all. All the groups basically teamed up to work together & yet, none of us understood what to do.

YES, he did let us re-do the assignment-an opportunity to INCREASE your mark after he gave you feedback on what to change!Totally willing to provide extra help. Yeah the exams aren't the greatest, but if you study, you'll do well! Great prof, knows his stuff & genuinely cares about his students
