Gives the worst lectures: nothing she says is ever followed through on. Its as if she gives the bullet points from her teaching notes, but doesn't have any info I the background. For my class we were asked to buy 3 books. I dont think 20 minutes was given of class time towards any of these books. Be sure to do your own research on the tests before.

Love Professor D! She's so enthusiastic and it makes me enthusiastic too! A little all over the place at times, but I feel like I always learned something in her class (plus she was always willing to help if anyone needed it)! :)

I asked her to write a recommendation for me for grad school, and she sent it in two weeks late even though she had a month's notice to do it, and then only sent it in after I called her to ask about it. I felt a little betrayed.

absolutely wonderful! she was so intelligent and approachable, and made the class interesting (religion and modern culture) very discussion based - you could easily get away with not doing the readings. i plan on taking another class with her just for fun!

I agree with the person who said "The class has so much potential to be good. However she does the material a disservice". that's exactly how i felt. she plays favorites and i cannot respect a professor like that. boring lectures, don't learn much of anything. waste of time

It is very hard to respect Professor Donaldson because she is so often infantilizing in class. She has the tendency to play favorites, particularly with women, and too often pushes an emotive political agenda. I agree with her politics, but I think she weakens the cause by misrepresenting leftist and liberal viewpoints.

I have taken a number of classes with Professor Donaldson because I am very interested in the subject of religion. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed in every class I have taken with her. Her academic work is not rigorous and is often ungrounded opinion. She has the tendency to flake out and she does not prepare for class lectures.

very sweet lady who is very disorganized but passionate about the subject. tests take forever to be returned, but the workload is fairly easy. be prepared for non-linear lectures, but interesting discussions. definitely recommend for anyone with an interest in the subject
