Starting off on a good note, she seriously knows her stuff. But she kind of assumes you do too - by this I mean she talks really fast, so fast I couldn't write fast enough. The tests are 100 mc questions, diagram heavy and worded weirdly. 4 tests makes up grade. She is a sweetheart and very understanding if you need help/need to do test at difftime

I found Dr. O to be an awesome person who is absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately I found her teaching very dry and boring. She was also often harsh to students, but they often deserved it for interrupting her. We only had a few pretty easytests for the class, so if you study you'll do fine.

seems like a great person & is willing to do a lot for you as a person, but as a professor i would not recommend taking her class unless its a last resort. She is slow, repeats unnecessary points, her power point slides are unprofessional, she doesn't make me interested in child development. I would love this class if it was taught by someone else

If you have the choice, dont take her classes. The classes were painfully slow to listen to, and I got nothing from them. The tests are INSANE! There are about 100 MC PLUS an essay per test, which I found very difficult to complete in 1h 15min!

Excellent example of a prof. She's brilliant but kind of dry, that being said, you will learn a lot about the subject. This class is just 4 exams weighted equally so you need to read the book and go to class. Do the work, you'll do fine. She can be kind of intense, but she honestly wants everyone to succeed. Don't use your phone in class though

although she can be funny, she is super slow and painful to listen to. she spends to much time on things that have nothing to do with what is on the test and spends no time on the things that need to be cleared up. her bonus essays at the end of exams can be helpful to boost ur grade, but sometimes the topics have nothing to do with the information

Great professor and reminds me of my grandmother. I love Dr. O and have taken two classes with her. She's HILARIOUS and insists on learning everyone's names. She loves to try and get the class talking and genuinely cares how her students are doing.

Dr. O is my idol (my spirit animal, if you will). Her since of humour had me engaged throughout her lectures & struggling to breathe at times. She can a bit intimidating, but as long as youre a respectful student you have nothing to worry about. Shes very clear about what will be on the tests. Dr. O demands respect, but will always reciprocate it

Dr. O has no problem putting students on the spot in front of the whole class. This isn't great for those of us with social anxiety. I would never take another class with her because of this and unfair testing. You could study the book and slides as much as you want, but it's still nearly impossible to get 100 on the multiple choice.

You teach yourself. Very intelligent professor, however, it was probably one of the worst classes I have taken at SMU in regards to the structure of the course, the testing and the fact that its fourth year class that you dont have to go to in order to learn more.

Professor Ozier is very clear at the start of the term that 50% of the tests will be from the text, and the other half will be from the lectures. If you ignore the slides and just take notes of what she says in class and memorise that, you will guaranteed get an A+. Her opportunities for bonus essays allow you to rise almost an entire grade.

Doesnt use anything outside of textbook so going to class isn't necessary unless you want the prof to call you out all the time for random stuff. And shes awful with names and her "optional" bonus essays are mandatory.....

She is the worst Prof I have ever had. I'm about to have my third test with her and she has only covered 1 of the 3 chapters on the exam, and to top it off the tests are comprised of 100 MC questions and a 2 page essay (which now I have to teach myself). I do not recommend this professor and would avoid if possible.

Worst prof I've had. Her syllabus was in comic sans and her ppts were formatted as if she used the spacebar instead of tab. She picked out students of colour and said "what about where ur from" and when they said they were canadian she goes "well ur *clearly* not canadian". Also said that "natives arent part of the general population". Never again.

Dr. O is a super lovely prof and her humour just killed me. A lot of students didn't seem to catch onto her jokes, but I found her hilarious! That being said, the lectures were hard to follow. If you don't take your own notes and read the book you won't do well in the course. Also, her wording for some questions can be a little bizarre.

SO, basically the absolute worst professor at SMU. should not be teaching anymore. She will tell you so many things during class over and over again i.e. "I will drop your lowest test grade if it's the first test" and then she won't and she will make excuses... It's like she refuses to give out A+'s even if you CLEARLY deserve it. TESTS ARE AWFUL

Worst profesor that I have had until now. Her classes are boring, she asks about 15 times per class if you understood what she just said, her power points are not helpful for studying, you NEED to read the book by your own. The quizzes are VERY LONG (about 100 questions plus an essay). The good thing is that the content isn't that hard to learn.
