Fascinating, but very challenging, professor. She has very interesting stories that help to make her points come across in understandable ways. Very willing to help in office hours. Her papers don't have a specific prompt. She challenges you to actually think and to have reasons behind your beliefs. Definitely recommend taking her.

Take Augirre's class if sticking your head in the oven seems too quick and easy for you. Our final took most of the class 14 HOURS TO COMPLETE!! To put it in perspective the SAT only takes 3. That being said she really does have excellent knowledge of her subject, so if trial by fire is your thing go for it.

I took her for a required class for my honors track. Worst mistake of my college career so far. She is so hard to understand, both in what she is saying because of her accent and what concepts she is trying to present. She gives no notes and it's impossible to get to the root of the things we are talking about in class. Papers have no guideline

Her class terrified me at the beginning. I felt as though the material went over my head. The problem sets were almost impossible for me to do without my classmates. All this said, I have never gotten so much out of a class. I feel so much stronger having learned from Dr. Aguirre. Very challenging but highly rewarding.

Dr. Aguirre is challenging but rewarding. Yes, she can be hard to understand (she is from Argentina) and yes she is demanding. But if you put in the work you will get quite a bit out of the class. She is always willing to help during office hours, but can be hard to pin down as she is very busy. In sum, buckle down and take Aguirre. She's worth it.

Dr. Aguirre is a very smart and well-renowned economist. Unfortunately, I can't say that she's a good teacher. She skips material that she later expects you to know, she moves way too quickly, and (if you take ECON-241) her method of teaching the ISLM model (not, in itself, a difficult topic) is literally incomprehensible.

Aguirre is a great professor. She knows her stuff (and is an internationally-recognized economist) and, though somewhat intimidating at first, is very easy to like once you talk to her personally. However, she does NOT take BS of any kind, so be forewarned. Work hard, take advantage of office hours, dress appropriately, and ask questions.

I have taken as many of her classes as I have been able to...she is just that amazing. By far one of the best teachers at CUA, as well as an internationally noted economist. You must be on time, attend all classes, dress well, and be on the ball.

I agree she is a smart lady, I do not agree that she is a good teacher. I took forbe's micro class before her macro class, and all she did was confuse me, and sometimes herself in the process. Conceeded lady in general, dont give a wrong answer, you wont hear the end of it

Dr. Aguirre is quite possibly the best teacher I've ever had. She is aware that her material is difficult, and manages to be clear without spoonfeeding. You will have to dress appropriately and work harder than you ever have before, but she rewards hard work with good grades and a well-earned smile.

Aguirre is an excellent teacher, she is an expert in her field and really knows her stuff. She is always willing to provide extra help as long as a student shows substancial interest and effort. She is not a teacher for slackers, however, and expects alot from her students. Best teacher I've ever had.
