I can't believe this is being allowed by Ohio State, they should be ashamed that their are being represented this way. You have to just short of genius to have a chance in this class. To all you who have her in the future. You will need more than luck!

Dr. King really isn't as bad as past reviews have made her out to be. Chem 101 covers A TON of information and goes really quickly. She is approachable and wants to help. Going to lecture is the best way to keep up. Labs are not especially easy, but midterms, quizzes and the final are fair, not easy but fair.. got an A but definitely worked for it.

Comment:

I personally liked Dr. King. She was a good teacher and I think that she did cover a lot of hard material. The tests and labs can be difficult at times but if you keep up with the work load and attend class you should be fine.

This was way to difficult a course for an introductory 101 class. I would be completely lost in lectures to the point where i quit going and would teach myself the material. It took time, but worked a lot better than sitting through the lectures. She covers a LOT of material very quickly, so don't let yourself get behind

GOOD TEACHER! i don't know what these other comments are talking about. Pay attention and you will do fine. Keep up with the work, go to lectures and study for each quiz. She does care about her students and gives completely fair tests and quizzes with most questions coming from lecture. recommended!

She is very nice and can be funny at times, however when I was in lecture I had no idea what she was talking about half the time. I would be lost in lecture, but when I went home and read the book and taught myself it wasn't that bad. Lectures are kind of pointless because she expected you to already know what she was talking about.

She was an awesome teacher! She was really interested in the material and made sure that students had visual aids to what was going on. If you go to lecture, get the study guide and practice, and put the effort in the class, you will get a good grade. Good teacher!

Dont understand all of the bad reviews. took this class 1st quarter fresh year and managed an a-...if you go to class, read the book, and study a little everynight you should be fine. She is very approachable but you must make the effort.

This teacher was horrible!!! Worst teacher ever. She doesn't care about anybody, teaches stuff you aren't even tested over. I went to lecture, and it was a waste of time. Just go over her practice midterms. She doesn't have a practice final, so you're screwed there. The only thing that will save you is the curve!

Lectures were pointless but because of lack of attendance she decided to give pop quizzes every week, if you were even one minute late to class you most likely already missed the quiz. I learned everything from my TA and from the book. Take online practice exams!!!

King is horrible. the TA chem room is not open during examn week so if you need help go early in the quarter. you might as well teach the course to yourself. i went to lecture but never used the lecture notes. take anyone but king.

In my opinion, this class was ridiculously difficult for being an introductory course. I had never taken chemistry before in my life and I was constantly lost. Dr. King moves very quickly through topics and expects everyone to pick up on all the material covered very quickly. Thank goodness for the curve...
