Disorganized. You can ask for your grade but he won't have any idea who you are. Tests were rather difficult and covered a wide variety of materials. Study sessions fairly often helped a lot of us but lecture attendance was useless.

Homework was optional but you had to do it if you want to study for tests. He had a weekly study session to help anyone in need but I never went bc I worked too much. It was one of the hardest classes I've taken bc he's bad at explaining everything and his level of knowledge was too high for students. Somehow got an A- bc mustve curved the grade

Effective at teaching concepts.... Problems - not so much. It was borderline impossible to cram 5 chapters into a few weeks though.

The least helpful teacher ever! Met him multiple times outside of class and it did not help at all. Avoid him if you are not a chem genius!

So hes a great guy who LOVES chemistry. And ive heard hes great for upper level classes. But hes too smart t oteach the intro level. He likes to fing problems online that he thinks are fun to do and put them on the test and its not what you covered. He also likes to remind you how important he is on campus. It is impossible to get ahold of him.

He's a bit tough to understand. The gap between his understanding and the student's is just so wide. He'll be easy sometimes and then be hard others. Can completely change on you, you'll never know what to expect with him. But the guy's absolutely hilarious and off the chain. Try engaging in a conversation with him, you'll know what I mean. Good gu

Analtyical chem is an upper level chem course. He does not give you tests but only assignments. It is up to you to do them. This was a great class! He is very entertaining! also be prepared to not get anything back but if you do all of the assignements and go see him when you need help you will do just fine.

Dr. Stauffer knows what he's talking about but explains alot of stuff like we are phD students. Literally studied all day for tests and only did kind of decent on them... he didn't give us 2 of our 5 tests back to study for the final so we didnt even know where we stood in the class all semester. Take someone else if possible.

Dr. Stauffer is a great guy who really knows his stuff. Sometimes he's a little out there, but as long as you do your reading before class, you will understand what he's talking about. His assignments are fairly graded and he will help you as long as you ask for it!

Great man, great professor... Once you get into the upper level chems, he is a completely different guy. He told me it was to weed out the kids that didnt really care about chemistry, because with his schedule, he doesnt have time for those kids.... He will do anything for you, and is always willing to sit down and talk with you about whatever.

He is a brilliant man, but can't teach. He reads off of power points. The only use I got out of going to class was the problem examples. I had to reteach myself everything before the exams. He isnt very helpful with questions because he will get off topic.

He is an alright teacher if you like chem. I however, hated chem. I didn't try very hard and ended up with a C but im sure i could have gotten a B if i tried. Decent amount of work. Problem sets along with a weekly journal on what you learned during the week. Gave extra cred for attending recitation. Overall a nice guy. Tests are hard so have fun.

had this guy for chem 1, yea it was boring cuz it was basically high school revamped. but i lost all my notes the week before the final and got all his powerpoints and was able to pass with a B+. he's a cool guy, get to know him. if something is unclear, ask him in recitation or during office hours.

Good things are said about him as a chemistry profess or most of the time, but as a lab insturctor, he is terrible....he is unclear, and gets off topic with unfunny science jokes that Einstein wouldnt find funny. Hes a great person overall, and a nice guy...but he is mostly unclear with overall presentation, and the lab assistant helps the most.
