She is really sweet and very helpful if you just ask. She really likes to ask for the student's opinions on things. She only takes attendance for a couple of weeks but she does notice when you aren't there No final exam just a ton of writing and reading. She really is super kind and sweet.

Mrs. Bowles is kind and encourages you to learn. Her class can be boring because it is mostly reading and taking notes. She takes attendance for the first couple of weeks, then stops. She notices if you aren't there though. Tests are all essay and there are 3 separate papers. no final. Overall, great teacher!

This teacher is terrible. Every story we read, we have one page of writing assignment for it. Most students couldn't finish her writing assignments because we have to read over 30 short story, poem and drama all combine. Her tests are so ridiculous that no students could finish them. She gives more C than B and A combine. DON'T TAKE HER PLEASE!

Very easy Class. I hate lit & essays but this was actually a very interesting class. Test are over exactly what she covers in class. To make it even easier spark notes helped me on every test. read story on spark notes took the test and made an A. Easy essays she tells you exactly what she wants just prove with quotes and its an A. Very nice Also.

She is nice and her lecture is awesome. BTW, 8 tests is a lot. We had 3-4 take home tests which was actually essays. And there is 1 bibliography, 2 short essays. So much study/reading is required. I tried to avoid prof who gives u lots of essays but it was epic fail. So if you are like me, dont take her. If u are good at essay, go for it.

Mrs. Bowles is the best teacher ever! Got an A. there are 8 tests and she will drop 1. Just read the story, they are long she summarizes for you in class. She is amazing and really caring. If u need help, just go to her office and she will help you. Her tests are easy! :)

Professor Bowles is the absolute BEST teacher I have had thus far!!! This is for anyone who has ever been afraid of English, Grammar and/or Writing(like me)...please take her. Professor Bowles is great! She explains everything very well and is more than willing to help if you need it. She is very knowledgable about the subject matter (mostly Greek Lit)and explains exactly what she is looking for in your essays. Fast pace due to shorter Summer Session. She is an awesome teacher! She is extremely helpful and patient. I describe her as passion coupled with excellence! She is very down to earth,funny and stern. If you want to pass the compass! Hands down best teacher I have had. She doesnt take plagarizin bull****. She is a really helpful woman who takes time to go over the mistakes in a paper. If you think you are horrible in english take her. She is a God sent teacher that knows her calling. Punctuality is a must.

Absoutely amazing! Mrs. Bowles will bend over backwards for any of her students. Attend class, do the work, and buy the book. She helps you every step of the way and gives you the skills to be a better writer. I'm not going to say whether it's hard of easy because it all depends on whether or not you apply yourself, but she's a wonderful professor

The Good: Ms. Bowles is one of the nicest people I've met. I took World Lit over the summer with her. She is a very good lecturer and is always willing to help. As long as you read, you'll have no problems on her quizzes and tests. I initially dreaded the class but I eventually found it very interesting. The Bad: None.

Mrs.Bowles is a very sweet person. She is willing to help you in anyway that she can. She follows her syllabus as close as possible; it is crystal clear. There is no surprises. If you do not pass her class it is your fault. She is far the best professor I have had at GPC.
