My exam & paper scores averaged to an A. Maggard gave me a C for the course. He subjectively gave me an F for class participation because I missed two classes due to work travel. He did not reveal that grading scenario on the syllabus. I'd previously taken the same subject w/engineering w/calculus (more difficult) and received A+. He's bizarre.

Professor "The Colonel" Maggard was awesome. He taught us well and truly loved teaching us. It really sucks that this is his last year, I feel like he is one of the better teachers in the department. He will be missed.

Nice teacher, wants his students do well. Not enough assignments, the quizzes count for a lot so if you don't do well on those its hard to do well. The business plan is half your grade, try hard. He will help you if you ask but if no he won't offer too much advice on it. I had an awesome business group so that helped.

I still have no clue what a business plan is. Expect to go through this class with no real help from him and relying on your business group for everything. His quizzes are ridiculous and your entire grade rides on the business plan, so don't screw that up. My least favorite class this semester.

For an entry level business teacher--he was ok. He takes attendance and factors this into grades at the end of the semester. He has quizzes that are easy and the project is relatively simple. Overall, not a terrible class just sometimes boring.

Easy class. Just read the book and go to class and pay attention. Drink a red bull before class though. He hates when people fall asleep yet he goes off on tangents all the time that have nothing to do with business at all. I won FAb 4 and therefore got an A, but the project is basically everything so come up with a good idea.

His teaching style, or should i say lack of teaching style definitely shows. You never use the book and he is useless. The whole grade is based on the final project, which is graded unfairly. He does not help with the final project aside from telling you how bad your business plan is. He doesnt even help you fix it. He is terrible.

I love having Maggard for class. Just go in, talk to him and he'll never give you a problem. Do the reading because he randomly calls on people, but the answers are often common sense and you can guess. It's not a hard class, except it all rides on the business plan which you have to figure out on your own. Maggard is a easy going guy though

Just like below, he really does fish for answers to from students, and it's not like we know what he's thinking. Attendence is mandatory, and boring. Read the assigned reading because he likes to call on people randomly to answer. He has a knack for picking out people who are not paying attention.

This was my worst class for my first semester of college!! He doesn't teach you the business plan and instead focuses all of his attention on the textbook. Yet your grade is almost entirely on your business plan. He is mean to students and will spend a whole class just fishing answers for stupid, irrelevant questions out of students who don't know.

pretends to be really hard and mean in the beginning, towards the middle he appears to be more opened and his mean comments...... he just wants you to partcipate and communicate with your classmates as much as you can, because after all, your grade does rely on the group.

This fellow is friendly and easy to approach after class if you have any questions. His downfall is that the whole class is writing a business plan, but you are given NO instruction on how to do so, AT ALL. Also, he can really make you feel like an idiot if you get something wrong, which discourages people to even try to answer.

I thought we were going to be learning the different parts of business in this class... I was wrong. The class is useless, and there is too much riding on the business plan. He is nice, but doesn't really teach, and he doesn't give you any clue to how to write the business plan!

I guess the people who gave Maggard bad reviews are just bitter that they got bad grades or something. He's a really good guy, and really helpful if you have any questions. He'll make you defend things you say in class, but he just wants you to learn.

I loved him. I was really surprised about all the bad ratings he got. The class was boring and the business plan was hard but i thought he was really nice and funny. a real good guy. one of my favorite professors so far

He always asks if there are any questions in class and when no one raises their hand, he says "So I guess you know it all then." when you ask he acts like you're stupid and should already know the ans

Terrible professor. His grading system makes no sense and then won't provide any outline on how he determined your grade. The only thing that matters is the business project and the evaluations. The quizzes he gives in class are completely worthless and really don't have any effect on your grade.
