Dr. Sandstrom is an amazing professor if you get to know him outside of lecture. Go to his office hours and he will be more than willing to help. This class is challenging if you dont read the book. There is also a quiz at the end of every lecture so if you dont attend the lecture you will miss a quiz. I would recommend if you are a NS major.

Sandstrom really is a good guy, I took him for 100 and 387. 100 is WAY easier. The exams aren't bad and he offers extra credit, but the extra credit involves going in front of the class which is hard for some people. Tries to stimulate discussion, usually not well. Unless you're as NS major take a different psych class altogether.

Michael is eccentric for sure. Kind of evident in his insecurities. But he's a super nice guy, really cares really wants you to succeed. Really easy A, and counts for an Honors course. Psy 100 summarizes everything you'll learn over and over in all your psy classes, so it's helpful if you keep your notes/book. He really tries to make it interesting

Going to class is a must because there are daily quizzes. He tries very hard to be engaging, but he explains content in a way that is more complex than it has to be and he tends to ramble.. Quizlet helped me study for exams. He curved the final by scoring a 100 question exam out of 60!

Daily in-class quizzes are fairly easy and straightforward. Exams come from material in the book, from the quizzes, and his PowerPoint lectures. Tries hard to be engaging, sometimes will ramble on about irrelevant things. It isn't impossible to get an A, but it takes a good deal of effort. Overall, he does a fine job and wants you to be successful

extremely passionate about neuroscience. he tells a lot of stories and tries really hard to interact with his students. he is a little awkward, and his lectures are lengthy, but they are relevant. he can get condescending sometimes. exam materials are based off of the textbook, in class quizzes, and lecture heavy.

He is really passionate about the subject, however HE IS VERY BORING. It is really hard to stay awake during his lectures. He tries to make them funny and appreciates when you laugh & participate in class. Overall, it is an easy class. 5 exams, 4 papers, and 5 question quizzes online for every test. Easy A if you put some effort in.

Knowledgeable and cares about topic, however he is condescending and passive aggressive when you try to discuss something with him. He also rambles on in his lectures and sometimes gets carried away with a certain concept. Class is easy as long as you read and show up. Overall he's neither good nor bad, Dunbar is better.

Sandstrom's class was the easiest of my entire semester. His lectures were somewhat helpful, but did not really add much extra information beyond the textbook. The exams were usually multiple choice and offered plenty of extra credit.

Dr. Sandstrom is extremely helpful if you utilize him. He gives quizzes every class worth 5 points, so you don't want to miss lecture. If you miss lecture, you also don't have access to the powerpoint. Overall, if you work hard and read the chapters, you should do completely fine in the class. If you struggle, go to him for help; he's always there.

Comment:
Dr. Sandstrom is one of the most misogynistic professors I have ever met. Do not take a class with him. His exams are impossible, even if you read the whole chapter, and he treats anyone who has below an A like they are completely incompetent. He's the worst professor I've ever had. If you need to take a neuroscience class, take it with Dr. Dunbar

Quizzes every day worth 5 points and you cannot make them up if you miss class. With many questions I have asked him, he has been sassy with the response. He puts his own time over our time. His lectures are long, always go the full hour. He does not give many hints on whats on the exams.

Super easy class. Easy test and essay questions, plus he drops your lowest test. Final exam was 75 questions, 50 points. Anything you got past 50 was extra credit. Nice guy and willing to help if you want it.

Exams are 40 multiple choice from the book test bank so buy text and read it! and then a 10 point essay that is more based off his lecctures. He LOVES this topic, very passionate. If you go to his office he will talk to you untill you understand it! I learned a lot from him!

His class is hard, but if you study the book, go to class everyday, and review all the lecture material you will get an A. Sandstrom will do everything he can to help you do well in his class. If you want him to explain the entire lecture over to you again he will do it on his own time. If you are interested in learning he will help you.

This class is very challenging if you are not a PSY major. You have to do the reading in order to do well on the exams. The exams are very difficult and the only way to prepare for them is to read the book and take notes. No study guides. He uses a lot of jargon which is hard to understand, but if you ask him to explain he will.

He is not a very good professor. He once told me that I should reconsider going into psychology because I was doing bad in his class. I am currently finishing my masters in psych. I finally realized that it wasn't me but it was him. He was the bad professor. Don't take him if you are passionate about psych.
