Comment:
Econ 101 with Nisha can be an absolute GPA booster. She explains everything very clearly in lectures. If you go to lectures and pay careful attention you need to study much for this course. The only thing is that lectures are ,most of the time, sooooo boring as she explains a concept over and over an over again.

Always runs late! Do not make plans after her class (6-15 minutes overtime each class). She cares about your understanding and goes out of her way to make videos or spreadsheets. Funny but mildly intimidating. Fair marker, a mix of multiple choice and short answer on tests then online quiz/assignments. Strict no laptop or phones policy.

Genuinely cared about her students, and encouraged critical thinking outside rigid models. Gave extensive feedback and kept things light.

Took her for my arts elective. Easy class, went to no tutorials, skipped lectures and still got A-. Final was easy and midterm was easier. Only downside is the horrible lecture time at 5pm and they are usually pretty boring, she also assigned a bunch of reading which did appear on the midterm and a little on the final, but I never did those.

She is a good professor. If you go to the tutorial class and pay more attention to the lecture, it is easy to get A+.

If you want to get a highest grades in econ101, Nisha must be your first choice. The midterm and final were super easy, which means you don't need to spend a lot of time on this course to get A even A+. The average in my section is 76+. However, if mastering knowledge is your first goal, she is not a wise choice.

Her economics classes require you to be able to apply the knowledge and not just know them. For example, you have to understand using supply and demand WHY a rent ceiling is a bad idea. Her exam and midterms are partly based on the readings. There's no extra credit, but she's still quite easy. I barely studied and got an A.

Best Econ. professor at UBC. Has taught since she was 21 years old, been teaching for 25 years, yet still cares a lot about her job and students. Her passion for teaching hasnt hindered a bit. Perfect pace of teaching, not textbook heavy, lectures are chill and not mandatory with really good slides found online. Dry lectures but can be funny.

One of the best and most caring profs I had in first year. Nisha really cared for her students to do well and did not move on to the next subject without majority of the class knowing the material well. Does an excellent job of explaining things. Does not reply to emails so dont even bother but overall I would take her again

Extremely unorganized, there is just simply too much materials to cover and she doesn't know how to teach, topics are all disconnected. Give out wrong information then correct herself after everyone copied down is hardly funny at all. Unclear instructions, students are here to learn instead of figurin out "the most efficient way for Nisha to teach"

horrible prof, one of the worst. I would avoid her at all cost. This is the first elective/credit course that I've taken that requires the purchase of access code. She refused to post any material on connect, instead, she posted it all on MyEconLab. Disorganized, and the assignment she asked us to do is completely different from what we learned.

Great professor. She is always willing to help you and seems to care about her students a lot. She is overall very approachable, not to mention that she's funny too. Her exams are also very fair. Gives you practice exams and reviews them. I would love to take another class with her - highly recommend!

Half the time here lectures seemed planned out, and the other half she seemed to talk about whatever was on her mind. I wish there was a clearer structure to this course and learning expectations were more overt. Sometimes she would almost trick the class and see if we could catch her mistake (not during review). Read the textbook and go to class.

Amazing professor. Really goes through everything in class and posts lecture notes. Gives practice midterms, hands back midterms. Very interactive and enjoyable class. Highly recommend. Tough to hear/understand at times due to accent but overall great prof

Don't, i repeat, don't take her class. She doesn't always cover everything in the class. Attending her classes are a big waste. Also most often she uses a bit offensive language. She never announce anything, unlike our other professors who always remind us if there is an assignment due. And her explanation are all over the place.

She is a really confusing teacher. I cannot understand the concept which she is trying to explain to us. She never reply my email. The test is extrely hard and I cannot find close relation of the questions to the materials that she metioned in the class. She made this couse difficult. Not recommended. Need study by yourself.

First lecture of 102, she went right into how to calculate GDP, no intro, no nothing. Bad lecturer, goes off on tangents (the bad kind, where literally nothing makes sense afterwards), and left my friends and I staring at her in utter horror. The majority vote in this year's class-poor lecturer, kind person, bad TA's, easy exams.
