She is just too strict. She doesn't allow absences or tardiness (my class met at 7:30 am) or late work; and she doesn't curve tests or round grades up At All, no exceptions. The average final grade for the class was a low C I think. The tests are tough and are a big part of the grade. If you're punctual and a good test-taker you should succeed.

Professor Underwood was super understanding amidst the COVID-19 situation. She dropped some extra assignments and gave us a test retake. But, I will say that you should take Micro first, or take that instead. I much prefer Prof. B's textbook over Prof. Underwood's, and the online material in Micro is better, easier homework and better lectures.

I took this class my first semester at UCF, my advice for incoming students would be to NOT take this class. Not only was this teacher not helpful at all but she also put 4 quizzes in just one week, giving me mental breakdowns all week and as I asked a question in class she completely ignored me. Moral of the story is do not take this class!

Highly recommend: take micro with Buhagiar 1st. The textbook for that class is way better, and prepared me well for macro. The textbook for 2013 is awful. Had I taken macro 1st, probably would have a B instead of an A. Dr. Underwood is good though. Her videos are great. The mindtap homework is helpful too. Just bad author.

Strange class format for Macro where you meet six times per semester to completely useless group busywork, then do the rest online. You have to study pretty hard to do well on the quizzes and exams but if you take your time and complete every homework assignment, extra credit, and group assignment you should pass. The extra credit helped me get a B

Dr. Nora herself is a pretty good teacher and was always able to give me a knowledgable answer whenever I had a question. She also had a lot of opportunities for you to boost your grade. However, the course's design SUCKS. You only meet six times for busywork, and you're on your own for the rest. This absolutely should be weekly lectures.

I graduated high school with 4.5 GPA, straight A's and I could not pass this class. The professor is awful. The class is taught in a REAL system so you only meet 6 times the semester. The professor DOES NOT teach. I had TWO tutors for this class. Spent an easy 6-8 hours a week on work and could barely get a C and the final bumped me to a D+

The class format is probably the only thing that really bothered me about this class. Every other week you meet in the collaboration room and work with your assigned group. Out of the 5 classes we had this semester, my group only fully finished one of these assignments so get ready to work fast. Helps to break up the work among the group.

This class isn't for lazy students who want an easy A. 3 tests that are taken on-campus in the testing center, weekly homework and quizzes. Online textbook and homework through Cengage. 6 in-class group assignments. Read the text book and watch every video she posts. If you don't watch them or don't show for class, you won't pass.

This class was mixed mode, so it was mostly online homework and quizzes, with six class meetings. If you read the book, watch her videos, and do the practice quizzes the class is definitely passable. I found reviewing my old quizzes before the tests to be more helpful than the given study guides.

It's not hard to do well in this class, do the practice quizzes and read the textbook. The TAs in the in class meetings didn't seem to know what they were doing, they'd give me contradictory responses when I would ask about a question on the worksheet, and I'd end up asking Dr. Underwood for clarity. Quizzes are online and you can take them 5 times

The class was kind of hard for a principles prereq but it can do a good job of preparing students before their econ cores. As a graduating senior I just wanted to breeze by in this class and not do anything... which is exactly what I did but still it was annoying and alot of busy work. I think its probably beneficial if you're a sophomore/junior.

One of my favorite economics professors. Very knowledgeable and great personality makes her lectures bearable. Seminar is kind of a "freestyle" class that she was given, and she did a good job with it. Many topics I had already learned in Development Econ and prior micro/macro classes, so it wasn't bad. Exams were tough and there were pop quizzes.

Do every practice quiz, saw many questions on the exams from them. Homework + reading the textbook does NOT help with exams. I hate watching videos but hers are actually decent when going through the modules (also on the exams). Also, content from the big quizzes are on the exams too. Memorize how to do tricky problems. Read discussion posts.

Everyone says this class is hard and theres only 6 classes that u meet and she barely teaches. This is wrong. This class is mixed mode so ur expected to mostly teach ur from her videos she posts and a textbook. Then using the knowledge u obtained ur to attend a class six times where there is group projects that assess how well u know the info

Imagine having to take quizzes throughout the semester, and they combined account for 15% of your overall grade. Now imagine having to answer 25 questions in 25 minutes where most questions require a lot of work to find the answer. Also don't expect any grace. No excuses. If you die, she still expects you to be in class and turn in assignments.

This class was overall difficult. You only meet a few times and she doesnt go over much. If you watch all the lecture videos she posts, actually do the homework thoroughly, and do her reviews, you can possibly pass with a B. The only pro to this class is youre allowed to bring one index card to each exam.

Worst professor ever. DO NOT TAKE HER. I took economics my senior year of hs & still ended up failing because she makes this class ridiculously hard for only having it 6 times a semester. She barely teaches in those 6 classes & makes u do group work the whole time. All the quizzes/hw is online but its HARD. She doesnt care abt her students at all.
