Very lecture heavy. No powerpoints so if you like to follow along with some visual do not take her. Her class is not awful but effort does need to be put in.

Most qualified person for the job. Lectures are very efficient and straight to the point. She doesn't just give you a ton of information to study (like some teachers I've had). If you take good notes and actually try in her class, you will make a good grade, and you will learn the information very well, and the final exam will be easy. You want her

Professor Riggs-Gelasco was great! She is so sweet and really cares about her students! However, she can be all over the place during lectures. If you go to class & office hours, and do all of your homework, you can do well! Her class feels overwhelming, but by the end you realize that you learned so much. Be prepared to work hard for your grade!!

PRG is a good teacher given she is HARD! Do practice problems in the textbook and GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS! Attend SI sessions regularly and you should be fine. Attendance is not mandatory but I strongly suggest you go. She's tough and sometimes her notes are scattered all over the board.

PRG is head of the chemistry department so she knows what she is talking about & loves what she does. Content/Class is tough, but she helps prepare her students for the future. Go to office hours. Key: do book practice problems & go to SI. TAKE if you want to be prepared for future chem classes, do not take if you have no interest in chemistry.

She is ok. But she is normally a chem 300+ teacher so she assumes that you are really good at Chem. Well, I have never taken chem before so I was doing poorly. Doesn't respond well to emails, doesn't explain things clearly at all. The kids who did well have taken AP chem before. Period.

She is the best teacher I have had in college by far. She is a fair grader who gives partial credit if you started a problem correct. She is also a really funny person who makes chem interesting. If you take her class you will have to work for a good grade. The key to doing well is read the book, do the homework problems, and use her practice tests.

Wonderful professor! She explains concepts in a way every student should be able to understand. I highly recommend reading the text book to follow along with lecture. Doing problems is the only way to succeed in this class so DO THE HOMEWORK PROBlEMS SHE ASSIGNS from the book. She always gives helpful practice tests as well. Take her!!

Dr. Riggs-Gelasco is the best professor I have had at the College of Charleston. She has the funniest sense of humor and tries very hard to make class enjoyable. I definitely recommend taking her. She is a fair grader and gives partial credit if she sees you started the problem out right. She is also very eager to help students with questions.

Dr. G is amazing. This was by far the best class I've taken. She's very difficult and expects a lot from her students, but the hard work is completely worth it. You won't find a better Biochem professor around.

Moves quickly and doesn't explain the concepts very well. When she does try to explain, she gives a lot of useless information that will only confuse you more. On the day of our final, we had exam 4, took a 10 minute break, then had our final. Needless to say, I would not recommend taking her classes.

She really challenges in the most effective ways and helps you to succeed. If you ever need any help, she's absolutely willing to help and answers questions in the best way. Thanks to her, I aced the ACS final.

Dr. Gelasco is awesome! Easily one of my favorite professors at CofC. She is so enthusiastic and exceeded my expectations of the course. It is a lot of material but she explains things very well and is very helpful. She makes the class fun. And she brings food. If you like chemistry you HAVE to take Dr. Gelasco!!

SHe is very enthusiastic, and you need to be too...to do well in this class you must read ALL of the relevant chapters and understand them forwards and backwards + look into concepts outside of how she or the book presents them. Difficult but rewarding if you like chemistry... B- (what I would give her)
