Great teacher/conductor. You have to work and be self-motivated, but if you are at Peabody, you should be self motivated anyway. Excellent musician, one of the best. I learned more about conducting in one semester than in years of prior study.

a bit arrogant, supposedly managed to get his wife a job at Peabody - She neither compares to him in stature nor skill. His behavior is at least professional. If you want to study music education in an environment of cultural tolerance, you'd best go elsewhere.

This intro to Conducting was a waste of time. We only got to conduct one time the entire semester...and even then, it was only for about 10 or 15 mins. Harlan's a great teacher though..it's just too bad we didn't have more time with him in that course.
