He is passionate about communication and very clear on grading expectations. He gives you feedback that truly helps you grow, which is rare to find in a class such as Intro to Public Speaking. I really loved this class and grew as a person from it. Beware, however, of the 2 pop quizzes after big lectures. TAKE THIS CLASS THOUGH! IT'S WONDERFUL

Alday's class was a lot of fun! I went in feeling fairly confident with my public speaking abilities, but left feeling great about it. Keep in mind that this isn't high school anymore; nearly every mistake will cost you points. But if you put in the effort and PRACTICE, you'll be just fine. Class very interesting and you'll enjoy it for sure.

AMAZING TEACHER!!!! I was worried about taking this class at first, but it was the best one I took all semester. He is very helpful, funny, down-to-earth, and caring. Seriously go to office hours for help with speeches. He has great advice. Be prepared to do a lot of work outside of class, but overall this is a class worth taking.

Paul was definitely one of the best teachers I had all semester. He was very down-to-earth and understanding. He wants his students to learn and it shows. I recommend going to office hours- if you need anything cleared up or reviewed he is super helpful. You must be prepared to do a lot of work outside of class, but this course is worth your time.

Sweet, sweet class! This guy makes speaking fun. Funny funny funny. I agree, don't take him if you want a blow off-class, but do if you want a great teacher. He also teaches theatre classes. Great!

Speech and Debate Team is my life so I am basically obligated to see Paul at least 10 hours a week. He is a pretty cool guy and doesn't seem like he would be a hard teacher...I'll be taking IPC 102 with him next semester...it doesn't seem that hard kiddies. Quite frankly it makes me sad if you failed.

Wow! What an amazing class! Before taking this class, I knew nothing about argumentation. I loved the debate elements. Mr. Alday did an excellent job of explaining ideas and using creative projects to help us overcome a fear of public speaking. Take this course!!!!

Wow! An innovative professor in communication. Mr. Alday makes learning both challenging and fun. This is one of the classes I really look forward to at 8:00 am! Syllabus is clear and grading exceptionally fair. If you are looking for a blow off class, don't take Mr. Alday's courses, but if you really want to learn something sign up.

Paul had a lot of fun ideas to keep the class interesting. He did tell us the wrong lengths on certain papers and then take off points for it being wrong, but just go by what the syllabus says and you'll be fine. He's very nice and it's a fun class. He even gave us like 5 freebees on the final.
