Great teacher, adjusted well to quarantine. This is a tough class, but if you put in the effort and take the hint and do the work the class is fine. Speaking up in class isn't required but will help you stand out. Very math heavy. His note packets were invaluable. Generous grader and clear grading criteria. Would take again if I could.

Do not take this class if you have never had any chemistry knowledge before! Super tough to build off of something that I was never taught properly (my high school chemistry teachers were not the best). I had a 4.0 all through high school and college before this class and always felt like I was smart, but this class made me rethink that.

Professor seems to be underrated in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed him and his class. He is a very generous grader if you grasp the concepts. There is a lot of homework, but if you pay attention in class, the class is fairly easy. Common sense is key to the class. He isn't for people who need to someone to walk them through all the steps.

He was fine. I took the online section, and you have to put in a lot of extra work for it-make sure you do the reading. Worst part was that 80% of your grade is exams-no extra credit available, no dropped grades (except one quiz, which makes no difference). Felt a little overkill for a chem 2 class. Make sure to take it IMMEDIATELY AFTER chem 1.

AWFUL TEACHER! Very dull teacher. Gives you a lot of work which it doesn't pay off on the tests. He can be rude sometimes. He's very knowledgeable but there's no energy, no enthusiasm, no care for the class. If you need to pass this class for credit, DO NOT TAKE HIM!

He's super strict and gets upset when you don't know the content. If you can get past the fact that he makes you feel a bit stupid, then he's a really great teacher. He gives lots of practice opportunity which is what you need to do to get good grades. He recommends 2 hours of study for every 1 hour of lecture. Lots of quizzes. Lots of book use.

Great Professor! I had him for Chem 1 and Chem 2. I actually didn't read the text book the whole time: that's what the lectures are for, and they are great. He also hands out packets of notes in class: these are the best, and they make the hard topics seem much easier and manageable, and they make his lectures easy to follow.

I recommend this class ONLY if you can show up every day and you're willing to put in the work. He treats Chemistry much like a math class, lots of work in class and homework to drill the concepts. He is very reasonable if you just communicate with him. He's a funny guy, which I think gets lost on some students. I will take more classes with him.

Franklin's class was one I looked forward to the least. I loved Chemistry before taking this class. If you are not one of the few students he likes, he will not answer your questions. I was graded lower than my partner even though our calculations and answers were the same. Do not recommend his class. Tests are hard and he has a lot of quizzes.

He talks about lecture during lab and lab during lecture. If you brought the wrong book, too bad for you. He wastes time then yells at you to hurry up. He tells you 'dont write this down-just remember it'. He might go over a problem once or twice, but be prepared to teach yourself. No time to read the text. Does not answer questions in class.

He talks a lot so it's hard to tell what is important. He is condescending and nags you about doing your homework, then blows through the math that you need to know. Be prepared to teach yourself. I would take him again only because I have had worse at this school. I don't think there is a decent chemistry teacher anywhere.

Professor Franklin is a great professor. It's chemistry, so it isn't easy, but he makes your life easier with OWL homework only twice a week, and hardly any handouts. He is fair and easy to approach with any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend him, if you're willing to put in some work for your own good.

I've had many professors in the past and Franklin is definitely one of my favorites. He is very patient, caring, always there for you, and most importantly teaches very well. His tests are NOT hard at all, they are straight forward, but you can't slack or else your test grades will drop. So always stay on top of it, and you'll get an A guaranteed.

I LOVED Franklin. His handouts are very helpful and he will help you if you ask for it. Franklin's labs are a little hard but I definitely would recommend taking Franklin if you are deciding to go further into chemistry. He has a lot of knowledge and is great at teaching. However, you won't get an easy A. You'll have to work for it.

Handouts are very good and very appreciated. Was very willing to give individual help. One of two JCCC who really wished to know his subject and succeeded. Others have been disappointing. Goes beyond the textbook; probably a good choice for those who are serious about chemistry.

Gen chem 2 wlab at JCCC in the summer, online class, lab on campus. He emails you every other day with great study guides, upcoming due dates etc, he literally walks you through the class. But, with Chem you have to do the work, but he is very helpful and extremely clear in his teaching. Only issue is that he lectures for a lone time before lab.

Rude! asked for help multiple times in the lab, said he "didn't have time". this class was a struggle for me. i would ask questions, and wasnt help. once tried to ask a question about a graph we were looking at, and his answer looked wrong and i asked about it. instead of trying to help he calls me out "cmon guys we know how read a graph" ANNOYING!
