Comment:
Totally unreachable, arrogant and absolutely not in touch with the world which has continued since the early 1970s. She did an MA level course with S. Clarkson (now deceased) for the Munk School and was totally uninterested in the collaborative nature of the course and the program - i.e. the very goal of the program.

In 2003, in grade 12, she and Ken Gass rejected me from the Drama Program. I was devastated. But, I since learned, I would never have been a famous actor anyway - its so competitive. Do you really think graduating from this program will make you a star? I went to business school instead and now have a good government job.

Comment:
Pia is extremely condescending. She doesnt care that youre an undergraduate student - she expects you to know the theories as well as she does. She leaves information out of project guidelines and then rips students apart afterwards infront of the entire class for not doing what she wanted. Take 220 instead if Pia is teaching 230.

Comment:
Pia expects a lot of her students so be familiar with all the theories so you can answer questions if she randomly calls on you. Fine for 230 because she is very knowledgeable about the material (although Euro-centric with not a single woman on the syllabus) and gives you a good basis. I found her 4th year course way too stressful/confusing.

Professor Kleber can be intimidating, but will make time for you if you ever want to talk about the course or anything in the theatre in general (although, she won't often agree with you). Field trips really enrich the classroom experience and she uses her connections to full avail. Overall a worthwhile course, which is great because it's mandatory

She's smart and she knows a lot, and she's actually a really good lecturer. But she's full of herself (what has she actually done outside of academics?!?) and her curriculum is way too Euro-centric to the point that she looks down on everything else. Claims to care about the students' experience, but don't actually try to talk to her.

As interested in self-promotion as she can be, she really knows what she is talking about and has made amazing international connections for the university and the programme. Pia means really well and does want to see her students prosper, and her stories do relate back to the course material as long as you've done all of your readings.

I am in total agreement with the other comment left on this page. I was extremely interested in Prof. Kleber's class before it began -- the subject matter was right up my alley. Therefore, I was highly disappointed when most of the lecture time was devoted to Prof. Kleber's self aggrandizing stories (which repeated) and NOT to the class itself.

Seems more interested in self-promotion than teaching. Bad tempered.
