Dr. Burkard is the nicest man in the world. He deserves all the praise available and much more. He bends over backwards to make learning Spanish fun for his students. He is not too old to teach. He put his wealth of knowledge into the classroom. Show this man respect because he shows all his students respect.

The old man can't focus for more than 10 seconds. Worst teacher I ever had. Oh and his pants fell down in the middle of class. So If your into not learning and being screwed for Spanish 2 and 3 then this is your guy.

He is so nice. He is very easy on attendance, he'll take any excuse you give him. He goes pretty fast and teaches from worksheets and the textbook, but tries to answer any questions you have the best he can. He goes off topic a lot but he is such a sweet guy. Very easy grader as well.

he is a nice guy and his class is an easy A as long as you have had spanish before. if not it might be difficult since he gets off topic quickly and as others have said feeds you the awnser if youre not sure.

I think Burkard is a little too old to be teaching because he seems to be going senile. Anyway, he is very easy and his tests are simple. Even if he asks you a question in class and you don't know the answer he'll answer it for you after a few seconds. Very easy class.

Comment:

Prof Burkhard's tests are SO easy and he is a very kind person. He can be funny, but at 8 am...I'm still asleep. Tests are just conjugations, daily expressions he gives you beforehand, and translations right out of the book. No other grades but the four exams. Only thing is he calls on you a lot in class and it helps to have a decent foundation.

Love his jokes. Talks about Russians, French, Germans and their languages, in addition to Spanish. Gives a very good review and tries to help you speak better, not just memorize one right way to say something. Very enthusiastic. I wish I'd done an honors option. Has taught for a very long time.

Doesn't teach well...when you need help, he feeds you the words. The tests are all memorization - no learning required. If you plan on taking span 2 or 3, take it with him or you'll be lost in the new class.
