Worst prof there ever was. Very rude, not helpful or accessible. Says there isn't enough writing in college- and continues to make you feel stupid: "You should read more books. Take a writing class." Do not expect good feedback on the writing, just cold criticism. Will make sure he tells you how much he knows and how much you don't know.

Extremely hard grader. I had to do multiple drafts just to get a c+. To put it into perspective I am an A+ biochem junior student(GPA:3.86). Was very rude in grading papers. His words for my first lab report: " one of the worst lab reports I ever read. You should go to the tutoring center, don't worry it's free."

Avoid this man, as much as possible. He says he will curve, doesnt, says he will review and help you with your writing, he doesnt, he just butchers it and says he cant help you. and the proceeds to add work to exercises that are mandatory for all classes like lecture questions on lab final. or extra abstracts and questions on the pedigrees due

Nice guy, lots of lecturing in beginning of lab. Let him grade your reports early and you can get an A, other than that most people didnt do that well, otherwise. His final is relatively impossible so dont even bother studying or stressing over it... not worth it. I got an A but I worked my butt off for it. He does know his material!

Not too tough, just go to lab and FILL OUT your notebook, it counts as a grade. Only 2 reports are handed in: 1st-very involved (Drosophila, fruit fly) difficult grader, take lots of notes and write all experimental data in notebook. You'll need it. 2nd-easy (family pedigree chart) short abstract, 8 charts and a few chi-square analysis... EASY B

very knowledgable. Also very challenging. Told me my fly lab report was well thought out, well written, etc. Gave me a B+ I think A's are nearly impossible. Always helpful with questions and interested in teaching! Just tough with grading!

Are you people joking. He is funny and smart. His one credit course taught me so much on research. I honestly wish I would have taken that class sooner would have helped me with research papers. He is ALWAYS there to talk with you and returns e-mails quickly. I didn't mind doing the work in the library because I really did learn a lot that I could use later in other classes.

Genetics lab is kinda pointless...a lot of colleges have done away with it. It's just reiteration of things told in lecture. It made the lab dull, to hear the same material as in class. Dick's very straight-forward, but that doesn't bother me. He expects his students to write quality reports.
