Comment:

A sweet lady, but would not take her class again. Lack of clarity makes it hard to give her what she wants in your essay. There is also pointless peer review. In all my years as a student I have never revised an essay based on a peer comment. Peers don't grade my paper and ultimately decide my fate.

Unless you are an English major or really need to learn research writing skills, this class is not for you. Professor Nester is a good teacher, but not for slackers. Very time-consuming course and energy draining, but it will prepare you for any university.

Disregard some of these comments. Dr. Nester is a wonderful and hard working professor for her students. You use all of the books, all of the time! Yes, you have to work therefore, if your lazy just take another professor. Otherwise, it is a great class.

Worst college experience thusfar. Prof assigns insane amounts of homework. She made us buy over 3 brand new books that we barely used. This class requires multiple hours of hw every night. She speaks down to students and has unreasonable expectations. The class SHRUNK FROM 50+ TO 10. Enough said.

Difficult and six essays to write throughout the semester due badk to back, however, an excellent class if you want to truly learn how to write a research paper on issues prevalent today. It will provide you the tools to become a successful writer in the future

This class is hard, but if you want to learn how to write this is who to take. She breaks things into manageable chunks to help you understand exactly what you are writing. She is also very helpful, willing to meet after class to explain things. I was an average writer, and she helped me improve exponentially. A hard, but good professor.

I was struggling in the class, as was everyone else. And finally i made the decision to drop. Of course it was after the drop w/o W date....the last paper i did my brothers girlfriend (has a masters in lit) graded it for me and said it was good... I GOT A D ON IT!!!!

I just want to say thank you to her. She told me to drop the class afte reading my in-class essay and I did. I'm so glad I listened to her advice. Thanks to her I actually met a professor that teaches me something.

she has a very low voice (very loud air conditioning); very bad handwritting (you seriously cant read**** with her cursive!!!); and she has this really weird way of grading papers, she doesnt letter grade them, she uses "check marks" with plus or negative signs next to them and you never know what your grade is until u ask her...real dumb...

Yes, a hard class but she makes it interesting and my writing improved. Not a high school teacher - definitely college - but that is why I liked it.
