Comment:
I do not hate Dr. Lewis, and I tried hard in his class. But for some reason, my potential to continue learning computer science is literally crushed perhaps due to the grading aspects of the course and reduction of homework load. I did not even receive my project grades, and now I have no choice but to give up as a major FOREVER!!!

Professor Lewis is a great professor who gives very interesting lectures and has a great sense of humor. This class primarily consisted of writing programs to solve specific problems, and Professor Lewis was always available for guidance, and gave great advice.

I took Lewis for algorithms and thought it was a great class. For whatever reason, his Machine Learning class is an absolute mess. The lectures are pretty irrelevant, more than half the class doesn't ever show, and the grading criteria is literally just changing parameters. I have an A and don't know anything, so if that's what you want, take it.

Dr. Lewis is an excellent professor with a knack for comedic relief. Taking Algorithms under him was a great pleasure, especially since he was so readily available to help clarify the material during his office hours.

Lewis is a really great professor- one of the best in the department. His lectures are very helpful and students benefit a lot from attending. He's a funny guy who likes to keep the class entertained and is very positive towards students who seek extra help or show interest in the material. Definitely take his class if you have the option.

One of the better computer science teachers (since he is Department Chair). His projects can take a while, but if you go to his office hours he will be sure to help as much as he can. Make sure to work on the homework in groups, it takes away some of the confusion and pressure on the problems. Overall, good class.

Terrible, terrible teacher - lectures are boring, unorganized, unresponsive to requests for help. Everything that makes computer science boring is embodied in this professor . He managed to turn an interesting topic into a miserable experience that left me jaded with CS itself.

Comment:
The most useless professor I've ever encountered. Lewis was always unprepared, he was unresponsive to requests for help, and his assignment deadlines were sporadic. Major assignments were often given to us with very short timelines, or we would have 3 assignments in a week, or we would go 3 weeks with no assignments. Too much stress - not worth it.

This was a great freshman seminar about coding and cryptography. Lewis is very friendly and easy-going. He explained concepts clearly. Only real work was a little reading and a presentation. Pretty easy A. Would definitely take another class w/ him.

Lewis is great for Math Powered Flight. His participation weight is 5%, and it's based on whether you're there when he calls on you from the sheet. In a class of 125. Tests are easy, homework can be done from the book, he lets you have a page of notes. THIS is where MPF gets its reputation for being easy. Lewis > Rublein

This is a very interesting class and Lewis is always well-prepared. He is highly intelligent, but watch for typos. He is always available for help and makes things very clear. He hates tests and so makes them very easy. Homeowkr is difficult, but going to office hours helps a lot!

Easy class, great teacher. Tests are mostly multiple choice. He teaches basic stats concepts ("the hardest math you'll do is a square root"). Computer presentations help, and he makes these Popeye noises when he's typing like "deet deet de

This man loves math. He's a good teacher too. I had him for stat and foundations and he made things very clear. He also has office hours that he's willing to extend for eternity if you need it

He is as nerdy and eccentric as you'd expect a math prof to be; however, I found the class to be exceedingly easy, though my 9 am timeslot had be falling asleep often.
