I really loved this class and Mendoza is amazing. I can see how people call him stuck up but I think he's done a much better job when I took the class. He really makes you think about the material, and makes the class very easy. I would recommend it to anyone.

Rudy is an understanding professor who gave extensions to the entire class twice upon request. His tests, however were tricky and strange. There is a paper at the end of the class which is fairly straightforward along with one midterm and a final. All in all, pompous professor but easy to skip lectures and still get an A

High energy Prof. Quite caring & compassionate. Has a good heart, wants the best for all. I think that those who viewed him as elitist or favoring honestly arent very good judges of character. However, he does tend to pick on ppl in class, & sometimes treats us like we are not knowledgeable, which may be preferred for some & bothersome for others.

I really, really enjoyed the concepts taught in this course. I would highly recommend it! Like many other students, I did notice that he isn't as approachable as he maintains. He kind of talks down to you, leaving you to feel awkward afterwards. I am not sure if he realizes it or not....but it seems to be a trend??

Class is relatively easy, just do the readings;two MC exams and a project. The professor is engaging and helpful. Be advised that the class can be somewhat depressing as injustice is stressed time and again.

he acts like he cares about his students but he's not helpful at all. BUT EASY A if you memorize the notes from notes.com. don't need to go to lectures at all. section attendance is 20% of the grade but gsi gives you full points although you've missed a few.

This professor is such a fake. He tries to come off as caring and down to earth.. At the beginning of the semester he kept stressing how he wanted to memorize his students names.. Well, I was one of them.. But, he didn't even say hi to me this time it was just me and him in an elevator. I really think going to Yale and Columbia made him conceited.

This class really isn't that hard although the exams do require you to study. I only went to lecture about a third of the time and just studied the black lightning notes and did fine. His stupid curve hurt me though so beware.

At the beginning he will advertise his class as being simply easy and fair. But Be Aware! ! ! To me this professor has a desire to grow and is continually amazed at how popular the course is getting but in reality.. people are being fooled. His multiple choice exams are tricky. He vicitmized people.

Mendoza-Denton is the first hispanic I have ever met that comes off as being elitist. He can be charming if you are a female and for a professor who teaches a class on stigma and prejudice he does a good job of doing stigmatizing others. He probably does not realize it. His graduate students have mentioned that he can be rude.

M-D is a clear and concise lecturer, and he doesn't give much HW, (weekly article readings). I thought class was fairly easy (discussion attendence 20% of grade). Final paper was graded fairly leniently. The two exams were multiple choice, but questions could be fairly trickly at times. Overall M-D is a good guy and this is an interesting class

Mendoza is great lecturer. It appears that teaching stigma and prejudice does not pertain to how he treats others because it is easy for him to get too sensitive and unconciously stigmatize others. Whether he realizes it or not it does not say much for his character.

He is very nice but be alert! If you struggle with self-esteem do not take this class. As much as he trys to be nice and helpful there is an underlying need to be better than others, or it appears that way. It also seems that he prefers female students.

Great teacher, really enthusiastic about his work. Try's really hard to make you feel welcome and comfortable. One of those teachers who sincerely wishes the best for you and wants his students to do well. Show up to class, pay attention, and you should do fine. The previous post was correct, show him respect.

He teaches with enthusiaism but privately comes from an elitist perspective. Don't get too casual with this one, he has a high need for maintaining top-down power structure. Otherwise, exams are not too difficult.
