Prof. Shaun Harris, is one of my favorite professors I didn't like him at the beginning, but now he's great! He gets off topic easily, he is a tough grader, gives back good feedback, attendance is for points. Very easy to get along with, you do have to put effort into the class or else you'll just fail. He also has a week grace period which is nice

Great professor! Loved the one week grace period he gave on all assignments! If you were ever absent you can email him and tell him your going to be gone. You just have to go to his office hours to get the absence excused.

He was a nice professor, his assignments were easy to do, just following his examples that he gave in the syllabus. With his grace period it gave a lot of time for me to do work and not stress out too much.

There are a lot of people saying he never input grades... I did not have this experience. Grades were very up to date the entire semester. It was online there were discussion posts, timelines, poetry analysis, and reading logs (which take a long time). With that being said he is INCREDIBLY helpful! If you put in effort he will notice.

Prof Harris is an amazing teacher. Took Comp 121, he expects a lot but rewards creativity and hard work. After completing his course, I am now able to understand things I read quickly and completely. He shows you a better way to take notes and to digest what you've read. I really appreciate taking his course, he's a very good professor.

Call me a masochist, but there's something about a professor who makes getting 100% on something a nigh-impossibility that I respect and appreciate. He's a gem, really--his methods seem intense for a community college setting, but really, community colleges need more professors that make their students better thinkers (read: do their jobs).

This is the second class I've taken from Shaun. It was a lot of fun, especially since much of the semester covered comedy. I will say, he makes you work. Definitely follow directions when it comes to analysis. His standards were hard to satisfy in both classes, but trying to meet them has definitely made me a better writer and critical thinker.

Shaun was made the teacher of my class last minute. I am halfway through the class, and so far I'm liking it. He really tries to teach you how to write and think about writing. He tries very hard to explain things so they are very clear to even the slowest learner but bright students benefit too. Grades and responds to emails very promptly weekdays

This is a class where you will get out of it what you put into it. It seemed like he did not anticipate much out of his students, which at times was frustrating. Shaun leads discussions with truly interesting insights, though, and his knowledge of literature is wonderful. Easy but enjoyable class-delve deeper on your own time to get more out of it.

I hated the class, but by the end of the semester I felt like I learned A LOT. He's kind of goofy but he grows on you. He assigns work as if this is the only class you're taking but he offers 50 points extra credit which could bump you up a letter grade. Took this class online and failed so I recommend his class over taking it online.

Very Interesting Material! but tough/rigorous course. Stay on track with readings, I suggest writing LOTS of notes during class discussions, & getting help outside class from him is very helpful. I had a bad family accident and he really worked with me to get through the class. I still loved this course and discussions. Great teacher!!!!

This teacher was horrible. He graded on how much he liked you and didn't always follow his grading criteria on the syllabus but would dock you points on his randomly made up guidelines. Definately pick another teacher.

He is not a good teacher at all for someone older like me coming back to school after 25 years, I do not reccomend him at all he needs to go teach at a university setting. I had 2 english teachers try to help me with papers and they were amazed and could not believee expected this at a community college. hes definetly not hling students succeed

I have that say that his class was very straightforward: do the assigned reading, write about it, write two papers, and for the hard work, there is no final. I did as told and got an A. I highly recommend this professor to students that want to be challenged.

This guy is a pain. He grades based on whether or not he agrees with your opinion on some papers,(he and I argued and I got one of the lowest grades in the class), and he has a research log that he makes you fill out to prove you spent at least two hours a day on this paper between the beginning of November till thanksgiving. He deducts if not done

Class requires a lot of outside work. Just be expected for it. First part of semester is easy, second half requires a journal before every class. Grades fairly easy if you just do the work. Otherwise had no other issues.

I don't think his grade criteria is harsh. In contrary, I think he grades in his own favor rather than step outside any standpoints.
