Comment:

Helpful guy - good class. The problem is that the classes are just too big - not his fault - education funding cuts. Thirty people in a painting class is too many. I was lucky to talk to him twice in a class. No tests - all based on projects.

Comment:

Skip is really a great guy. Not only is he a fantastic teacher with great advice and expertise, but he is also very humble and funny at the same time. He makes drawing a fun thing to do. I plan to take his classes again in the future.

Fantastic teacher!! Always has excellent comments and insight, and is willing to work with the student's abilities and vision to improve both. He has a fantastic sense and knowledge of color and painting materials and techniques and, happy to share. Wry sense of humor - highly recommended!!

Comment:

After a 20 year hiatus from painting, it was easy to jump back in with Skip. I have really progressed under his guidance and his critiques always improve the painting. He sees things I don't and when I try them, the painting pulls together as a whole. He's a rare combination of master painter, master teacher and one truly funny guy all in one.

he is a realist painter and can help you get really good at painting 'realist' paintings. his classes can be hard to get into as he has a large following of adults past the age of twenty. few young people stick around i'm not sure why.

Personable and funny, Skip is also an excellent instructor who provides plenty of guidance to the class as a whole, and helpful, gentle criticism to each student. I strongly recommend taking any/all of his drawing and painting classes.
