Fun lectures, but downright x-rated at times. Acts helpful and says he'll take care of you, but doesn't. Pre-reqs don't mention math, but should at least require MTH111 as over one fourth your grade comes from problems he wont help you with and says "don't worry." He will help you if you're going into the field of Geology, if not, beware!!!!!!

when i first had doctor taylor i hated him. then when i graduated and got i job i realized he got me ready for the real world. lots of time using excel and unit conversions. not so much time on the things your job will teach you.

OK, He is super awesome once you get past 100 level stuff. No he does not use a text book since he has novels of notes that he has compiled for students. ALL of the notes are great, but you will kill a few trees. Language is crude, but we are all adults. He will always help you out, some times you just have to be persistent :) Overall, good.

Ok, so he might not be the nicest guy in the 100 level classes. He doesnt like teaching the LACC classes because most of them are freshman who hate science. Should he be a little nicer to them, yes. But for those of you who are ES majors/minors, you will have Steve in more classes and realize this guy is amazing.

This guy is the real deal. Some may not "get" him especially in 100 level classes, but he truly cares about his students and as a major, I can say he will help steer you in the right direction. I wouldn't be where I am now... grad school... without his support.

I took ES 104 and 106 with him. Read the lecture notes and do not expect them to really go along with the lecture itself. They are more like supplemental texts BUT read them--they tell you everything you need to know. Take notes in class. Read the book if you feel the need. You will do fine.

dr. taylor is the best teacher ever! His sense of humor is very dry. For those of you who think he's a big weirdo, you're wrong. That's what a textbook, stereotypical geologist looks like. He is the quintascential geologist in western oregon. If you want to do well with him, you have to ask questions and be willing to work hard, that's what works.

Really quite boring, but lays out the material for the people who really just need to get the class out of the way. He is arrogant, slow and uninterested in teaching. This man really just need to smoke pot all day and kick back a bottle of whisky all day and then he will be truly happy!

Horrible, horrible teacher. He openly admits that he's a teacher because he doesn't want to do anything. And the alcohol comments aren't jokes. He goes out drinking with his class and drives the class home afterward! Doesn't ever teach either.
