Comment:

Lectures are boring, but important to take notes during. Don't skip class, he takes 3 points off of your attendance grade each time you skip. Gives study guides for the tests which are pretty easy. I recommend printing out the study guide and filling it out during lecture. Three tests and one 5 page paper is all. He's funny, and his class is easy.

He is a good professor. Kind of funny in a quirky way. Class is definitely not hard. Gives excellent study guides of vocab and two essay questions, study that and you'll do great. There is a 7 page term paper at the end, but it's not too bad. He does take attendance, but I wouldn't consider it necessary. Doesn't ever use textbook but it will help u

Comment:

Horrible teacher! Extremely boring and the tests are insanely hard. He gives a study guide but the test is nothing like it. Essays count for 60% of the test and if you don't write more than a 1/2 page for each, he counts A LOT off. Impossible to do well in his class no matter how hard you work. Would not recommend his class to anyone!

He is absolutely hilarious. The content of the course isn't always interesting but he makes it worth going to class everday. He does take attendance. The tests are fairly easy and there is one paper. He also offers a few opportunities for extra credit. I made a A in his class.

This professor is odd, but funny. Going to lecture isn't a chore, because you never know what the man is going to say. He gives study guides for tests, so that makes that easy. The only warning about this class is take attendence seriously. There's only like five grades, so making mistakes hurts you big time.

Eskildsen is a weird guy, for sure but He's so funny and makes jokes allll the time. He is an amazing teacher and you can really tell he loves what he teaches. Definitely come to class because if you really listen to the lectures and take reasonably good notes you'll do well on the tests. I'm looking in to taking other classes he teaches, love him!

This professor is awesome. He makes me laugh every single class. One time, he was passing around a huge stack of pictures of his travels (which he does a lot) and in the middle of the stack, there was a picture of Dr. Evil... lol. He is extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, grades easily, and is a genuinely good person.

Great teacher and a funny guy. Go to class as attendance was 30% of the grade. Be ready to take a lot of notes and there is an 8 to 10 page paper due for the end of the semester. Only three tests were given and there was no final exam

Not bad. The class was not interesting to me so I found it hard to focus which was not good. He is interesting..a little weird but that's not a bad thing. He likes to joke and is kinda funny. This man is very quirky and loves to joke. His Simpson's references cracked me up. His lectures are interesting and fairly easy to take notes off of (though it took me a class or two to get used to the way he talks). He gives out study guides for his tests that are very helpful. I wouldn't skip this class as the tests come from his lectures.

Funny professor. Laid-back and fun. Gives good lectures. Take good notes and pay attention and you should do well. There were like 3 exams that had true/false and essay questions. There was a big research paper due at the end of the semester. You learn about Islam in a very open and knowledgeable way that will create less ignorance among people.

Very entertaining professor, knew what he was talking about and he made references to the simpsons, family guy, star wars..ect...All you need to do is GO TO CLASS, take notes, and study the study guide and you wll be okay. Oh..and write a complete page for the essays and you will get an a.

Religions of Japan was an excellent class. Four tests and a term paper, although we only had three tests due to time constraints. Tests come from "Quickie Study Guides" given to you before test. Term Paper had to be 10+ pages. Eskildsen is an awesome guy, loves Ric Flair, the L.A. Dodgers, his beloved Chunichi Dragons and Homer Simpson.

This guy is by far one of my favorite teachers i have ever had. Hes straight to the point. You get a lot done and take a ton of notes but all you have to do is show up and listen. I went just to see what kind of crazy comments he would through in. No hmwrk quizes or class work just tests on notes that are basically given to you in study guides easy

if have an open mind, this is the class for you. i reallly enjoyed this class and i learned a lot!! it is very easy to get an a or b. all you have to do is come to class, take notes, and study the study guide he gives b4 the exam(which is EVERYTHING) on the exam. he likes crusty burgers and the simpsons!!!! hahaha
