The lectures were fine, but the assignments were almost always unclear. Most in my class didn't understand/agree with his grading. Made us get a textbook that he wrote that was riddled with spelling/grammar errors and just repeated what he said in the lectures.

Initially I thought, no one could make Old Testament super intriguing, Professor Burgh does just that. If you go to class, take notes, and turn in assignments, you do not have to worry too much about the outcome of your grade. Expect pop quizzes (but he warns you about them the class before). If he repeats something, KNOW IT. Study guides!!!!

Took Mr. Burgh for online PAR 103 and it was pretty easy. Every two weeks there is a multiple choice quiz, short journal, and class discussion. Didn't take very long to do any of the assignments.

One of the smartest and kindest professors on campus. Always willing to help no matter the situation and truly loves to teach. Pay attention during his lectures and answer questions, even if you are right or not, participating goes a long way. Follow directions on papers and presentation and always show up on time. Respect is important to him.

Dr. Burgh is a great professor! However, there is a TON of reading for this course. I actually slid by without buying the textbook, even though it is considered mandatory. He is pretty understanding but will give you a hard time for being on your phone or missing class.

Easy A except you have to actually do the work. The 3 tests each have a study guide with the exact question thatll to be on the test. Takes attendance but you HAVE TO GO TO CLASS anyway to get the notes. Group project is simple but annoying. My friend took the class online which was easier but she would have struggled w/out my notes

I took Burgh online and never ran into any complications with him. He responds quickly to emails and tries to fix whatever problem you may have. I took this course to fulfill a university credit, but I would not mind taking another class with him again.

Pretty straight forward class. Tests are exactly from the studyguide and he gives hints as to when the pop quizzes are. Attendance is mandatory and you only have 3 absences. Overall the material is fairly easy and he is an entertaining and lighthearted teacher.

I managed to take his class online, even though I really wanted to take it in a classroom setting, and it was pretty easy. He was fairly lenient with grading and all you really have to do is keep up with discussion board questions if you take the course online. Probably the easiest A I have ever received.

I took this class based on the reviews I read on here. Dr. Burgh is very friendly, clear, and helpful. I believe he was pressured to increase the difficulty of his class based on several students receiving high grades. He said only one person received an A on the midterm. Despite all of this, I still enjoyed the class and learned a lot.

Took it online, NEVER AGAIN! Too much reading, and the discussion questions have nothing to do with the massive reading assignments. The tests are too detailed and fill in the blank. Either know your religion prior to taking or don't take at all, online anyway!

Dr. Burgh is GREAT! I was nervous at first to take a religion class at a public school but he is wonderful at keeping discussions at an academic level. 2 papers (he grades very generously), a midterm, and final. Some multiple choice, matching, short answer, and essay on both tests. Study guides for both are very detailed/helpful.

To anyone interested in Old Testament, or someone that just needs another history class - definitely take Dr. Burgh! Two papers (easy), a group presentation, two "random" quizzes that he hints to A LOT along with a midterm and final. He gives you study guides for the tests that are exactly what you need to know! He also makes the class fun!

DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. Got a 79.46 and he gave me a C...half of those points were taken away for "answering too religiously." He is the most unorganized online professor I have ever had. NOTHING is explained, the syllabus doesn't align with the course & he gives you a schedule of what you should be working on but doesn't include assignments/due dates

Highly recommend this professor! The course material is very interesting. He gives you a study guide before the midterm and the final, and the questions are pretty much the same. If you study the study guide you will definitely make an A on the finals!
