He's sardonic and moody, but hilarious and fun! You will either hate him or love him. If you want to become a better writer, then you'll love him and the course. If you're wanting to be caudled and told you're amazing when you're not, then find someone else to take. Learn to take constructive criticism and know he's trying to help you grow.

AWFUL! Gives directions saying NOT to specifically write about each story in your reading responses and then when you do exactly that gives you a failing grade and leaves a comment telling you that he SPECIFICALLY asked you to write about all of the readings. I'm not sure how to pass this class. Been in class 3 weeks, grade already a C.

Tim is the greatest professor I had at UNCW. He's intimidating at first, but cares so much about his students and has helped me many times in the years since I graduated. Because of Tim's belief in me, I believed in myself. I hope you read this, Tim .You're the best! But expect to work hard for your grade and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!

Tim has been one of the best professors that I could have asked for as a CRW major. His 322 class is no cake walk, but if you take interest in actually learning, he will help you and you will excel! He is also the best advisor and has helped me so much through the years. He's hilarious and always entertaining. A staple of the department.

We spent half of every class just looking at bad spelling and grammar on the projection screen and about half the class talking about how to use commas. He made mistakes and typos on tests in a course about attention to detail and expected us to accommodate him. Very grumpy and overall less than helpful.

Very laid-back class. Tim jokes around a lot, and tries to keep classes entertaining, while still keeping a learning atmosphere. Never laughed so hard in a class in my entire life. If you don't like teachers using loose profanity and innuendos in lectures, don't bother with him. Otherwise, he's pretty awesome.

This dude was sooooo funny!If you take his class however, be PREPARED. Do the reading! The quizzes are so easy. So is the exam. He gives you the answers in the syllabus. I highly recommend this guy!

Tim. God I love you. He gave me a low A even though students reported crying while reading the piece I submitted. This is only cause he reviews everyones pieces with inscrupulous precision. He seemed easy all semester, even told us how great we were doing and not to worry about grades and then gave the majority C's and low B's in the end. He also refused to discuss grades at any point or explain his final grade to anyone. I found him to be an aweful teacher; he gave us no useful criticism and used us as an audience for his standup act

He is a funny guy but don't let that get in the way of your work. His class isn't easy. Bass has a set writing style and expectation regardless of the course name so follow his advice, don't try and make a statement. His class is very laid back but it's still college. :)
